Nevada does not have a state lottery. There have been some efforts to legalize a lottery program, but the Nevada Resort Association has opposed these efforts. The most recent effort to legalize a lottery in Nevada was introduced in 2023 by Assemblyman Cameron Miller, but the soonest it could take affect would be 2026.

It is interesting to note that the Las Vegas Strip is not actually located within the city itself. The Strip is just outside of the city’s border on unincorporated land. There is no doubt that gambling will remain a prominent part of life in Nevada. The tourism industry in Las Vegas is a vital part of the state’s economy, so casinos aren’t going anywhere. Most likely, Nevada will continue to expand, specifically when it comes to online gambling.
