  • The 2023 College World Series odds are available at top betting sites like BetUS.
  • Wake Forest is the current favorite to win after a dominant performance in the Super Regionals.
  • Upsets frequently happen in the CWS, so I prefer to go with a sleeper bet like Virginia.

One of the best times of the year for sports bettors and baseball fans is when the College World Series comes to town. The tournament is full of crazy upsets, shocking wins, and incredible performances across the board.

There is no shortage of entertainment when it comes to the CWS. That said, betting on the eventual winner makes things even more exciting.

If that sounds like something that you’re interested in, I urge you to sign up at the top sites for baseball betting.

These sites will offer 2023 College World Series odds throughout the tournament. I’ll go over the top contenders and my prediction for who will win. Let’s get to it!

Latest Odds to Win the 2023 CWS

Here are the most current 2023 College World Series betting odds at this time.

The Super Regionals are still going on, which means these odds will shift once all the teams are finalized.

The 2023 CWS odds will also change throughout the tournament. By the time you’re reading this, the odds could look entirely different than they do now. So, what’s the best way to approach this?

For starters, you will want to place your bets as soon as possible. The betting value is at its highest point right now. Once the tournament starts to take shape, you won’t be able to find prices better than this.

For example, Wake Forest is the current favorite to win, with a +325 price tag.

We could see their odds drop to negative territory if they survive a few rounds. TCU’s odds are currently +1200, but they could be down to +500 if they win their first series.

Predicting a winner from this far out is difficult, but the risk is worth the reward.

These 2023 College Baseball World Series odds were pulled from BetUS. If you’re looking for a reputable sportsbook that will offer odds throughout the tournament, you can’t go wrong with their site.

Why Are the Demon Deacons the Favorite?

For those of you unsure about who to bet on, you have nothing to worry about. I’ll be breaking down the overall favorite, the top contenders, and my favorite sleeper pick. By the end, you’ll be ready to go.

So, who is the current favorite to win, and why? That would be none other than the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

Wake Forest is coming off a dominant performance in the Super Regionals. They bounced No. 16 Alabama and only needed two games to do so. Game 2 was an absolute pummeling, with Wake Forest winning by 17 runs (22-5).

It’s important not to fall for recenct bias when it comes to sports betting, but it’s clear that this team is heading into the tournament with high hopes.

As a team, Wake Forest hit 120 home runs and batted .307 in 2023. Brock Wilken leads the team with 27 homers and hit three tanks in their steamrolling of Alabama.

Wilken and Nick Kurtz have on-base percentages of .517 and .538, respectively. Getting on base in more than half of your at-bats is remarkable. These two players should continue to provide run support throughout the tournament.

The Demon Deacons also have a ton of great arms, headlined by Rhett Lowder. Lowder had the best win-loss record (15-0) in the country and 131 strikeouts in 108 innings pitched.

Wake Forest is the number-one team in the college baseball rankings. They had a 47-10 record this year, and it’s no surprise they are favored to win in the latest 2023 CWS odds.

The real question is, should you bet on them? Only one team in CWS history has won the tournament as the first seed (Miami, 1999).

Upsets are plentiful in the tournament, so it’s hard to justify betting on any team with odds below +500.

Do they have the talent to win? Absolutely. However, it usually comes down to which team is playing better at the moment, not which team is better on paper.

Top Contenders to Win the 2023 CWS

Wake Forest is the favorite to win, but a few other teams are right there with them. The seed with the most CWS wins is the second seed with three, while the third has two wins.

It’s a small sample size, but maybe you’re better off being considered a top contender rather than the favorite anyways. Who knows? Maybe the motivation of being the underdog is enough to fuel these teams to win the championship.

The 2023 College World Series odds have LCU and Florida as the next two top contenders. Let’s look at both of their outlooks for the upcoming tournament.

LSU (+550)

LSU was able to cruise past Kentucky in the Super Regionals, winning 14-0 in Game 1 and 8-3 in Game 2. They are also coming off a strong season, going 43-15 and ranking as a top-ten team.

Now that a few of the other top ten teams are out of the picture, LSU has launched up the leaderboard. LSU (.315) actually had a higher batting average than Wake Forest this season.

They also ranked second in the country in slugging percentage (.572), with Tommy White and Dylan Crews leading the charge. Tre’ Morgan also blasted two home runs in Game 1 against Kentucky.

I haven’t even mentioned their best player yet, which is Paul Skenes. Skenes is having a phenomenal season, registering 188 strikeouts in just 107 innings. That was 46 more strikeouts than the next-highest player this season.

Simply put, if Skenes is on the mound, LSU has a very good chance of coming out on top.

Can LSU continue to build off their Super Regional performance? If so, they could end up as this year’s champs.

Florida (+650)

The 2023 College Baseball World Series odds have Florida as the third-best team. LSU is second in the betting odds, but Florida is ranked as the second-best team in the rankings.

This season, they had a 44-14 record and took down South Carolina in the Super Regionals.

Florida didn’t dominate their opponents as much as Wake Forest or LSU did, so maybe that’s why their odds have taken a hit.

To be clear, you don’t have to dominate your opponent to win the championship; you just have to win.

Their pitching staff could have been a lot better this season. They ranked 35th in team ERA (4.52), so they will have to pitch better in the tournament.

Even if they don’t improve in the run-prevention category, their offense could keep them in any game. Florida had a .546 slugging percentage this year, with 129 home runs (fourth-best).

Jac Caglianone led the country in longballs, taking opposing pitchers deep 31 times in 65 games.

If Florida’s Super Regional was an indication that they can win close games, they could make some noise in the tournament.

I mentioned that Paul Skenes led the country in strikeouts, but guess who was second? That would be none other than Florida’s Hurston Waldrep. He registered 142 K’s across 93.1 innings in 2023.

My Favorite 2023 College World Series Sleeper

As I mentioned earlier, only one team has won the championship as the first seed. Upsets are expected every year, and 2023 should be no different.

With that in mind, which team would make the most sense as a sleeper or longshot bet?

My favorite sleeper pick is going to be Virginia (+750). You could try your luck with just about any team, really, but Virginia is one that I have my eye on.

The Cavaliers went 45-12 this season, ranking as the 11th-best team. They led the country with a .333 batting average, in addition to a .529 slugging percentage. Kyle Teel led the charge with an incredible .419 batting average.

Virginia also ranked as the fourth-best team in the country with a team ERA of 3.80.

Connelly Early had a 12-2 record for the Cavaliers and will lead them into the tournament. They lost the first Super Regional game to Duke but quickly bounced back. Both of their wins after the Game 1 loss were by 10 runs.

If they can keep up this level of play, there’s a chance they will win the whole thing.

When betting on a longshot team like Virginia, you want to ensure they can do multiple things well. This team can hit and pitch with the best of them, which means they can beat anyone.

Sleeper teams have more questions about them than the top contenders, but you get more of a return on your investment when you bet on them.

The 2023 College World Series odds for Virginia are at +750, and I’ll take that any day of the week.

Betting Tips for the College World Series in 2023

The 2023 College World Series betting odds could seem hard to understand at first, especially if you’re new to the scene.

Lucky for you, I have some helpful tips that will help get you started.

  • Place Your Bets Early
  • Monitor the Odds Throughout the Tournament
  • Consider Betting on Multiple Longshots
  • Analyze the Bracket to Find Favorable Upsets

The first thing you want to do is place your bets early. We are still waiting for the Super Regionals to wrap up, but you can still place your wagers now. As I mentioned earlier, the betting value is at its highest point.

You could be sacrificing a healthy amount of cash just by waiting.

I can’t stress enough about the importance of monitoring the betting odds throughout the tournament. It will be a very fast-paced environment, so the odds can change anytime.

A team might be a top contender to begin but might fall into sleeper territory if they drop their first game. This could be your window of opportunity to bet on their longshot odds before they mount a comeback.

It’s also justifiable to bet on multiple longshots. We already know there will be some crazy upsets, so why not give it a shot? After all, you could cash out or hedge if you don’t trust your longshot team to win the entire tournament.

Lastly, you’ll want to analyze the bracket and look for potential upsets. A sleeper team would benefit from being on the easier side of the bracket.

2023 College World Series Winner Prediction

Buckle up, ladies and gentlemen, because the College World Series is almost here. Each team will be looking to take home the title, but only one can do it.

Do you think you know who it will be? If so, be sure to bet on the 2023 College World Series odds at the top sites.

My prediction for who will win the College World Series in 2023 will be Virginia (+750).

They are a capable team in terms of hitting and pitching. The Cavaliers fell short in 2014 but won their first championship the following year.

It seems like a perfect time for them to add to their resume; they have the talent to do so.

Which one of these teams will you be betting on to win the 2023 CWS? No matter if you’re riding with my Virginia pick or your own team, be sure to use the best sports betting sites.
