Sadly, we are approaching the end of the 2023 college football season. The good news is that we can end the year on a high note by betting on the 2023 Heisman odds.

There are so many great players across the country, but only the best of the best are in contention for the award. Although some are setting themselves apart from the rest of the pack, this race is not over.

You can still find a ton of value in a sleeper bet, or you can play it safe and bet on one of the top contenders.

Who will win the 2023 Heisman Trophy award? I’ll be breaking down the odds below and offering my own prediction for who wins.

Who Is Favored to Win the 2023 Heisman?

Above are the 2023 Heisman Trophy odds from BetUS. A lot of other sportsbooks only have the odds for a handful of players. BetUS goes above and beyond and allows us to bet on 12.

Some of these Heisman candidates are unlikely to win, but it’s always nice to have the option. If college football has taught us anything, it’s that we should expect the unexpected.

We can also look at the current 2023 Heisman odds to see how likely it is that someone does win.

Bo Nix is the betting favorite with a +100 price. His implied odds are around 50%, which might not sound like much at first. However, the other candidates are much lower than that. He’s having a remarkable season for Oregon, who sits at 9-1 after the first 10 weeks of the season.

Nix is averaging 313.5 passing yards per game, as well as an exceptional 29:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio. It’s fitting that his best game of the year came against the reigning Heisman winner, Caleb Williams.

The 23-year-old threw for 412 yards and four touchdowns to lead his team to victory. You can bet on many great candidates this year, but this performance may have sealed the deal for Bo Nix.

Top 2023 Heisman Trophy Contenders

The 2023 Heisman odds favor Bo Nix, but there’s still a chance that someone else wins.

If Nix stumbles in the last few games of the season, that could be the difference. Even if he continues to perform well, there are a few other candidates that will challenge him.

Those candidates include Michael Penix Jr., Marvin Harrison Jr., and Jayden Daniels. Let’s look at these three candidates to see how they can beat out Bo Nix.

Michael Penix Jr. (+400)

Michael Penix Jr. finished eighth in the Heisman voting last season, but he’s poised to finish much higher in 2023. In fact, he could end up being the winner if he continues to play the way he has been.

The Washington quarterback has 28 touchdown passes this season, as well as seven interceptions. He’s also thrown for 3,533 yards this season, the most out of any other player in the country.

In fact, the next closest player (Caleb Williams) has 284 less yards than Penix.

It was clear that he was in for a massive season right out of the gate. Penix threw for 450 yards and five touchdowns in the first game of the season against Boise State. He also shredded Michigan State in Week 3 with 473 yards and four touchdowns.

Washington has a perfect 10-0 record and ranks within the top five in the latest AP Top 25 poll rankings.

Penix will need to make his last few games count, but he’s certainly capable of doing so. If you are considering betting on his 2023 Heisman Trophy odds, BetOnline has a great price for him at +400.

Marvin Harrison Jr. (+520)

Historically speaking, it’s quite rare for a wide receiver to win the Heisman Trophy. Only five wideouts have won the award, with DeVonta Smith being the most recent (2020).

That said, football isn’t played the same as it used to be. Teams used to run the ball like crazy, which is why many running backs have won the Heisman. Now that the modern game of football is more pass-heavy, we should see more wide receivers win.

If any wide receiver is going to win this year, it’s going to be Marvin Harrison Jr. The 21-year-old is essentially unguardable by his college peers. He’s a lock to go in the top 3 of the next NFL Draft and quite possibly first overall.

Ohio State’s top pass catcher has 1,063 yards and 12 touchdowns this season. DeVonta Smith had a much more impressive year when he won the award, but that doesn’t mean Harrison can’t win.

If you want to take the trailblazing route, be sure to bet on Harrison’s odds at MyBookie. In addition to college football Heisman odds, MyBookie has a great sportsbook and welcome bonus.

Jayden Daniels (+700)

Rounding out the list of top contenders is Jayden Daniels. The LSU quarterback has turned into a real superstar this season. He has 3,164 passing yards and 30 touchdowns, to go with just 4 interceptions on the year.

Not only that, but Daniels is a very dynamic runner. There’s a good chance he will finish with over 1,000 rushing yards in 2023, considering he’s already at 918 and has a few games left. He has also added eight more touchdowns on the ground, giving him a total of 38.

Daniels had his Heisman moment when he became the first FBS quarterback to throw for 350 yards and rush for 200 in a single game. This performance came at the perfect time, too.

The 2023 Heisman odds had him as a longshot a few weeks ago, but now he’s one of the top contenders.

His odds to win the Heisman in 2023 are at +700 over at Everygame. Other sportsbooks have him down to +475 and below, so it makes more sense to bet on Daniels on their site.

Everygame offers plenty of convenient banking methods, and various welcome bonuses not only for sports but casino as well. It’s a great all round gambling site, but you can read all about that in our Everygame review.

Best 2023 Heisman Sleeper Picks

The 2023 Heisman Trophy award odds have a ton of value, especially if you are going to bet on a longshot. To be clear, these two candidates have slim chances of winning the award.

Not only will they need to end the year with some big games, but they’ll also need the other top contenders to cool off. It’s unlikely, but not impossible, for this to happen.

So, why do we even consider betting on sleepers?
Well, the main reason is because of the potential payouts. You get way more money by betting on a sleeper than you do for a top contender.

For example, Jordan Travis has +6000 odds to win the Heisman in 2023. A $100 wager on him will win a whopping $6,000. The same wager on Bo Nix will give you $100 back. A win is a win, but you want to make sure you’re getting enough value for your wager.

Travis also has a realistic chance of winning. He has 2,734 yards and a 20:2 TD:INT ratio after the first 10 weeks of the season. The quarterback has also chipped in seven more rushing touchdowns, bringing his total to 27.

Florida State has a perfect 10-0 record, and Travis is a big reason why.

Another longshot bet to consider is Caleb Williams. The reigning Heisman winner is set to a much higher standard than everyone else. USC’s quarterback has gotten a lot of criticism due to his struggles in big games.

However, he still has a great stat line for 2023. Williams has 3,249 yards with 40 touchdowns (29 passing, 11 rushing), as well as four interceptions. It’s been a struggle for Williams over the last few weeks, but he’s not out of the running just yet.

My 2023 Heisman Winner Prediction

Heisman

The 2023 Heisman odds could be your next way of winning big. Unfortunately, the end of the season is almost here, but predicting the Heisman winner might hurt a little less.

There are some incredible players throughout the country who are deserving of recognition. That said, only one will win the award. As I mentioned earlier, Bo Nix is the current betting favorite.

His college football Heisman odds are at +100 on the top sites. He has put together a phenomenal season and has the best chance to win the award. However, I’ll be betting on Jayden Daniels instead.

Daniels just had one of the best single-game performances in FBS history. He also has exceptional passing statistics and is doing damage on the ground as well. Some sites have his odds closer to +400, but you can get him at +700 if you visit Everygame.

Feel free to tag along with my pick or to bet on someone else. Either way, just to be sure to shop around the best college football betting sites so you get the best available price.
