Purdy has a stellar supporting cast and offensive scheme, which makes him one of the top contenders to win the Super Bowl MVP award right now.

Speaking of Purdy’s stellar supporting cast, Christian McCaffrey is their best offensive weapon. You can make the argument that the 49ers’ offense runs through McCaffrey as much as it does Purdy.

He’s incredibly dynamic and can beat you on the ground or in the air. McCaffrey had huge games against the Packers and Lions, which propelled the 49ers to the Super Bowl. He has four rushing touchdowns and is averaging 130 scrimmage yards in the playoffs.

If Purdy doesn’t have a huge game in the Super Bowl, McCaffrey can outshine his quarterback and win the MVP. You can even get a slightly better price for McCaffrey at Bovada, who has him at +450.

The Super Bowl 2024 MVP odds have even more value for longshots. Some of my favorites include Travis Kelce, Rashee Rice, George Kittle, and Nick Bosa. These four players play significant roles for their teams and have tremendous betting upside.

Most Super Bowl MVP awards go to the quarterbacks, but it’s not impossible for another position to win.

With how well Travis Kelce is playing right now, it’s going to be really tough to pass up on his +1400 odds at BetUS. He caught 11 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown against Baltimore last week, which came after a two-touchdown performance from the previous week.

Rashee Rice deserves a lot of credit for getting the Chiefs offense back on track. Their wide receivers have been extremely inconsistent this season, but Rice has become a reliable target for Mahomes.

There are a number of great sleepers on the 49ers as well, including George Kittle and Nick Bosa. Kittle is another dominant tight end, and his +6600 price has a ton of value. He didn’t light up the box score last week, but he’s capable of taking over this game.

It’s difficult for defensive players to win the Super Bowl MVP, but Nick Bosa is certainly capable. Kansas City relies heavily on the pass, and Bosa is a lethal pass rusher. A few big sacks could make the difference.

That said, everything does point to Mahomes or Purdy here. Purdy offers the value, but it feels like Mahomes could provide a bit more safety.

As for my Super Bowl MVP prediction, I am going to bet on Christian McCaffrey. He has carried the 49ers’ offense in the playoffs and could have another monster performance in the big game.
