Why Is Patrick Mahomes the SB 58 MVP Favorite?
Now that you know where to bet on the Super Bowl MVP, let’s look at the favorite. That would be Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs continue to prove that they are on another level, and Mahomes is the main reason why. Even in a “down year,” Mahomes has led his team to another Super Bowl. Their offense looked out of sync in the early parts of the season, but they seem to be back to their usual, dominant selves.
Baltimore’s defense was incredible this season, but he was still able to complete 30 of 39 passes in the AFC Championship. San Francisco’s defense is tough, but Mahomes is certainly capable of putting up huge numbers.
The Super Bowl MVP award usually goes to the winning team.
Interestingly enough, the Super Bowl 58 odds have the 49ers favored to win, not the Chiefs. There’s certainly an argument to bet on someone else other than Mahomes, but his price reflects just how good he really is.
He won the league MVP and Super Bowl MVP last season, and he’s certainly capable of doing it again. If Kansas City pulls off the upset, the award will likely go to Mahomes.
That’s why the Super Bowl 58 MVP odds at BetUS have him as the favorite.
Top 2024 Super Bowl MVP Contenders
It makes a lot of sense to bet on Patrick Mahomes, but there are plenty of other options to consider as well. You can try your luck on a sleeper bet or place your wagers on another top contender.
The Super Bowl MVP betting odds have Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey as the next two top contenders, so let’s take a look at both.
Brock Purdy (+225)
Brock Purdy has gone from Mr. Irrelevant in 2022 to a potential NFL MVP, and now he has his eyes set on the Super Bowl.
He’s thrown for 31 touchdowns across 16 games this season, while averaging 267.5 yards per contest. If he can put together a strong performance in the 2024 Super Bowl, he can easily be the MVP.

Purdy has a stellar supporting cast and offensive scheme, which makes him one of the top contenders to win the Super Bowl MVP award right now.
Christian McCaffrey (+450)
Speaking of Purdy’s stellar supporting cast, Christian McCaffrey is their best offensive weapon. You can make the argument that the 49ers’ offense runs through McCaffrey as much as it does Purdy.
He’s incredibly dynamic and can beat you on the ground or in the air. McCaffrey had huge games against the Packers and Lions, which propelled the 49ers to the Super Bowl. He has four rushing touchdowns and is averaging 130 scrimmage yards in the playoffs.
If Purdy doesn’t have a huge game in the Super Bowl, McCaffrey can outshine his quarterback and win the MVP. You can even get a slightly better price for McCaffrey at Bovada, who has him at +450.
Top Super Bowl 2024 MVP Sleepers
- Travis Kelce (+1400) – Visit BetUS
- Rashee Rice (+5000) – Visit EveryGame
- George Kittle (+6600) – Visit SportsBetting.ag
- Nick Bosa (+8000) – Visit BetOnline
The Super Bowl 2024 MVP odds have even more value for longshots. Some of my favorites include Travis Kelce, Rashee Rice, George Kittle, and Nick Bosa. These four players play significant roles for their teams and have tremendous betting upside.
Most Super Bowl MVP awards go to the quarterbacks, but it’s not impossible for another position to win.
With how well Travis Kelce is playing right now, it’s going to be really tough to pass up on his +1400 odds at BetUS. He caught 11 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown against Baltimore last week, which came after a two-touchdown performance from the previous week.

Rashee Rice deserves a lot of credit for getting the Chiefs offense back on track. Their wide receivers have been extremely inconsistent this season, but Rice has become a reliable target for Mahomes.
There are a number of great sleepers on the 49ers as well, including George Kittle and Nick Bosa. Kittle is another dominant tight end, and his +6600 price has a ton of value. He didn’t light up the box score last week, but he’s capable of taking over this game.
It’s difficult for defensive players to win the Super Bowl MVP, but Nick Bosa is certainly capable. Kansas City relies heavily on the pass, and Bosa is a lethal pass rusher. A few big sacks could make the difference.

Tips for Betting on the Super Bowl 58 MVP
Betting on the Super Bowl MVP award winner is often as simple as predicting the winning side and then backing that team’s quarterback.
Historically, the winning team’s quarterback wins this thing, and when they don’t, it’s usually because the game was low-scoring.
Super Bowl 58 does feature two very talented defenses, but it has a pretty healthy 47.5 game total. Suffice to say, points are expected to be scored here. When you have studs like Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey, and Travis Kelce, it only makes sense that a shootout could be on the horizon.
That doesn’t mean you can’t bet on non-quarterback MVP winners, but keep in mind that there are some special players in this game. Tight ends don’t win this award, but George Kittle and Kelce are two of the best ever at their position.
Running backs don’t win much, either, but C-Mac is a generational talent, and even Isaiah Pacheco is talented enough to shock the world. And there are viable wide receivers worth betting on, especially when you think about Deebo Samuel’s dynamic nature.
That said, everything does point to Mahomes or Purdy here. Purdy offers the value, but it feels like Mahomes could provide a bit more safety.
Super Bowl 58 MVP Winner Prediction
The Super Bowl MVP odds have a lot of value right now, no matter if you’re betting on a top contender or a sleeper.
Patrick Mahomes, Brock Purdy, and Christian McCaffrey are the top contenders, but there are a ton of intriguing sleeper bets as well.
As for my Super Bowl MVP prediction, I am going to bet on Christian McCaffrey. He has carried the 49ers’ offense in the playoffs and could have another monster performance in the big game.
Not only that, but his odds to win Super Bowl MVP still have a lot of value at +450. If you can’t wait to make your Super Bowl MVP pick, head over to Bovada.
