Sean O’Malley is the fighter with the shortest odds on the UFC 299 main card. There are some preliminaries with fighters that have shorter odds, but generally speaking, this is a fantastic event from a bettor’s perspective.

I took the odds from EveryGame, but it’s a similar situation at all the other leading MMA betting sites – BetOnline, Bovada, and others. Still, there’s one reason why you might want to use EveryGame for UFC 299 betting, especially if you don’t own an account with this sportsbook yet.

The thing is that EveryGame has a lucrative bonus for new customers. The deal in question is a 100% sign-up bonus up to $500, which comes with only an 8x rollover. The best thing is that you can use this bonus to bet on UFC 299.

UFC 299 Main Event Preview & Pick

Sean O’Malley is the UFC Bantamweight champion whose only career loss happened nearly four years ago against Marlon Vera. Now, he’s got a chance to get his revenge. Judging by the UFC 299: O’Malley vs. Vera 2 odds, he’s likely to do so.

You can be certain that O’Malley’s confidence is sky-high after winning the title last August with a spectacular KO against Aljamain Sterling. He showed the world that he’s one of the best boxers in the UFC.

Another evidence of this is that he’s seventh on the list of active fighters with the most strikes landed per minute. He lands over 7.25 significant strikes every 60 seconds, which is almost three strikes more than Vera.

Does this mean Chito is in trouble? Not necessarily. Vera is one of the toughest fighters in the 135lb division, the proof being that he’s never suffered a loss inside the distance.

But even if O’Malley doesn’t finish him, it doesn’t mean Vera will win. In fact, my O’Malley vs. Vera prediction is that the defending champ will land just enough punches and kicks to win over the judges.

I’m going to back O’Malley at EveryGame as this betting site is giving the best price on favorites. If, however, you disagree with me and wish to bet on Vera, my advice is to do it at TrustDice, especially if you still don’t have an account with this bookmaker.

The reason is that TrustDice is giving a $30 risk-free bet to new customers. This means that you can have peace of mind betting on Vera – if he loses, you will get the money back in the form of a free bet.

Best Bets for UFC 299

  • Dustin Poirier to beat Benoît Saint Denis (+140) – Visit BetUS
  • Jailton Almeida to beat Curtis Blaydes (-105) – Visit BetOnline

Benoît Saint Denis is a former French commando who’s won each of his last five UFC fights in under 10 minutes. But he’s never fought such a tough opponent as Dustin Poirier. The Diamond is exactly the kind of guy who can derail the BSD hype train.

After all, he’s the guy who beat Conor McGregor twice, as well as Michael Chandler, Max Holloway, Justin Gaethje, and many others. I can’t see why we couldn’t add Saint Denis to the list.

When it comes to Jailton Almeida, I think we could see him fighting for the title in a few years’ time. He’s incredibly fast for a heavyweight and very difficult to hit. In fact, of all the active UFC fighters, he’s the one who absorbs the least strikes (0.45 per minute).

The Brazilian is a great striker, but his most lethal weapon is grappling. So, even if wrestling expert Curtis Blaydes does take him down on March 9, we could see Almeida turning things around in his favor.

As you’ll notice, I’m backing a lot of underdogs to win at UFC 299. However, none of them is a huge underdog. In most cases their odds are just over +100.

There are even some fighters who aren’t favorites, but who still have minus-money UFC 299 betting odds, like Michael Page or Gilbert Burns, for example.

When it comes to strong favorites, I’m confident that Maycee Barber will win, and so should Mateusz Gamrot and Robelis Despaigne.

Advice for Betting on UFC 299

UFC 299 is one of the biggest martial arts events of 2024. So, you can be 100% certain that all fighters will go all-in on Saturday. In such cases, experience has taught me that surprises do tend to happen.

Although I don’t think we’ll see an upset in the main event, I suspect some surprises will happen elsewhere. One fight that particularly looks as if a shock outcome is going to happen is Poirier vs. BSD, in which I’ll be backing The Diamond.

If you’d like to do the same, I’d suggest heading to BetUS, as they offer the best combination of price and bonuses.

My advice is to go heavy on underdogs, but even if you prefer backing favorites, you’ll still get great UFC 299 odds. Just make sure you’re finding the best pricing, wagers, and bonuses by using the best MMA sportsbooks.
