As it’s been a tradition for the last couple of years, I’m doing a Eurovision betting preview, confident that my top pick will win. My confidence comes from the fact that my top picks won in the previous two contests.
I’ll start my betting guide by presenting you with the latest Eurovision 2024 odds.

The 2024 Eurovision is taking place in Sweden because Swedish representative Loreen won last year’s contest with Tattoo. Her Eurovision Song Contest odds were as short as -135 at some entertainment betting sites, meaning that everyone expected her to win.
This year, however, the competition is way fiercer. Switzerland is the top favorite with the 2024 Eurovision odds of +190. Croatia is just behind with the odds of +325, followed by Italy at +550 and the Netherlands at +600.
These 2024 Eurovision odds are from Bovada, which is one of the biggest online sportsbooks in the world. Apart from offering Eurovision betting odds, this gambling site also has markets for contests and award ceremonies, including the Oscars, Grammys, and so on.

Why Is Switzerland the 2024 Eurovision Favorite?
Switzerland’s song in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest is The Code by Nemo. The song tells the story of the singer’s personal experiences with realizing their non-binary identity.
The song was released on the last day of February, but hasn’t performed too great in the charts, reaching the No. 22 position in Switzerland. Despite that, bookies think The Code is going to do fine in Malmo. It’s currently the favorite to win the contest, with the 2024 Eurovision odds of +190.
Have a look:
When the markets opened a few weeks ago, the Swiss representative was fourth on the list of Eurovision favorites with the odds of +700.
The probable reason for this is that The Code was released later than most other songs – on the last day of February 2024. As the number of YouTube views grew, the song’s odds started shortening, and Nemo’s song eventually leapfrogged Croatia’s entry to the No. 1 spot on the list of favorites.

Top 2024 Eurovision Contenders
Judging by the 2024 Eurovision odds, this is going to be a very close contest. In addition to Croatia, there are another three contestants with odds shorter than +1000.
Croatia (+325)
Marko Purišić a.k.a. Baby Lasagna is Croatia’s Eurovision representative this year with the song Rim Tim Tagi Dim.
According to the artist, his style is a mix of pop-punk, techno, heavy metal, and house music. He cites German hardcore band Rammstein as his main influence, which may make you wonder what’s he doing at Eurovision?
Although Rim Tim Tagi Dim isn’t a typical Eurovision song, similar songs did do well in the past. For example, three years ago, Italy’s Maneskin won with Zitti e buoni, a glam rock song written in the Italian language.
Croatia’s 2024 Eurovision entry is written in English and the lyrics are unusual, to say the least. It’s about a young man leaving his small village after selling his cow. It sounds kind of frivolous, but the lyrics actually tell the story of a massive exodus of Croatian youth looking for a better life abroad.
Speaking of Croatians living abroad, there are roughly half a million of them in Germany, while there’s also a significant population of Croatian immigrants in Austria, Switzerland, France, Sweden, and many other European countries.
The reason why this is so important is that the Croatian diaspora is likely to vote for Rim Tim Tagi Dim. For all these reasons, I think backing Croatia to win in Malmo is a very good choice, especially given that the odds for Eurovision are so good (+225).
Those odds actually moved from +300 at some overseas sites, too, so now is the time to get in on Croatia to win this thing. Head to Bovada to back them now.
Italy (+550)
Performed by Angelina Mango, La noia is Italy’s entry in the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest. This is a pop-folk song with elements inspired by Latin American dance cumbia.
The song was released in February and has since reached No. 4 in the Italian singles charts, with over 100,000 sales. The song is also doing very well on YouTube – it’s currently the third-most listened-to song on the official channel of Eurovision.
Ukraine (+1000)
Eurovision is a big deal in Ukraine, the country that won this competition two years ago and which was one of the top favorites last year. In 2024, Ukraine’s odds to win Eurovision are +450.
The song in question is Teresa & Maria, performed by Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil. According to the duo, the lyrics are inspired by the leaves of Mother Teresa and the Virgin Mary.
Any three of these contenders are solid bets to win Eurovision this year. Pick the one you like the most and get in on the action at Bovada.
My Favorite Eurovision Sleeper for 2024
It’s been a while since a betting underdog won the Eurovision Song Contest. Maybe the 2024 contest is when that ends? If you think a surprise will happen in May, perhaps I can interest you in my favorite Eurovision sleeper pick; the Netherlands.
The official music video for Europapa by Joost Klein has a higher view count on YouTube than any other Eurovision 2024 entry. It currently has more than five times as many views as Croatia’s video.
I see this as proof that people love this Eurodance song, so getting a lot of points through televoting is a guarantee. But will it get enough points from the jury to win the contest? Bookies aren’t convinced, but that’s exactly why the Dutch odds are so attractive (+600).
Eurovision 2024 Winner Prediction
Here are a couple of reasons why I’m confident Croatia will win the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest. First and foremost, it’s a great song. It’s not just me who says this, but music critics as well.
Plus, the song’s lyrics are in English, meaning that a large number of people will understand Baby Lasagna’s emotional pain for leaving his home.
Finally, there’s the thing about how Eurovision voting process goals. It’s a sort of tradition that Balkan countries vote for their neighbors, so expect Croatia to get all 12 points from Bosnia, Slovenia, Serbia, etc. Plus, Baby Lasagna is bound to do well in regard to televoting in countries with a large Croatian diaspora.
