Demi Moore (+500) has the next best odds for her performance in the body horror film The Substance, while Colman Domino, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, and Justice Smith all have (+800) odds to take home the prize. Veterans Nicole Kidman and Pamela Anderson are both slated at (+1000) to win, with Keith Kupferer (+1500) and Saoirse Ronan (+1800) rounding out the category.

Best Director Odds

Sean Baker (-250) has the best odds to win Best Director for his romantic comedy Anora, according to BetOnline. Jane Schoenbrun (+300) has the next shortest odds to win for her psychological horror film I Saw the TV Glow, with RaMell Ross (+400) right behind for directing Nickel Boys — a historical drama told from the first person perspective of its two main characters.

Payal Kapadia (+600) is nominated for Best Director for her All We Imagine As Light, which was also the first Indian movie to compete in Cannes since 1994. Guan Hu (+800) is nominated for his drama Black Dog as well.

Best Documentary Feature Odds

The top odds to win the Best Documentary Feature category go to No Other Land (-500), which shines a light on the struggles of the Palestinian people. The documentary was filmed over the course of five years and began before the events of October 8, 2023, which significantly escalated the conflict.

Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat and the Indigenous residential school documentary Sugarcane both have (+500) odds. Intercepted (+600) has the next best odds, followed by Dahomey (+650) and Union (+1000).

Best International Feature Odds

All We Imagine As Light (-200) has the shortest odds to win Best International Feature. The film’s director is also up for the Best Director award. Hard Truths (+250) and Green Border (+450) are also nominated. The Italian drama Vermiglio (+500) and the Vietnamese drama Inside the Yellow Cocoon Shell (+800) make up the rest of the Best International Feature betting odds.    

Best Bets for the 2024 Gotham Awards

I’m looking at Payal Kapadia (+600) to upset Sean Baker (-250) for Best Director. Her movie All We Imagine As Light won the 2024 Cannes Film Festival Grand Prix (the festival’s second most prestigious prize), and it has a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes as well. It’s also the odds-on favorite to win Best International Feature at the 2024 Gotham Awards.

The world has watched the conflict between Isreal and Palestine dramatically escalate over the last few years. While it has been talked about endlessly, I expect the unique and intimate perspective of No Other Land to earn a 2024 Gotham Award for Best Documentary Feature.
