Triple Play Keno Draw Poker
Triple Play Keno Draw Poker is a combination of keno and video poker that sees you play three hands simultaneously.
This machine plays like standard Triple Play video poker, but you can also make an extra 5 coin or 10 coin bet to activate a keno drawing.
For fans of both video poker and keno, Triple Play Keno Draw Poker can be an exciting affair.
Find the answers to both of these questions as we discuss Triple Play Keno Draw Poker’s betting, rules, variations, pay table, and strategy.
How to Play Triple Play Keno Draw Poker Video Poker
The betting process begins with deciding how many coins you want to put on each of the three hands. You can put anywhere from 1 5 coins on each hand.
If you want to place the optional keno bet, then you have to wager 5 coins on all three hands, 15 total.
When you do this, you’ll have the option of placing either a 5 coin or 10 coin keno bet. This activates the keno card on the right hand side, which can add multipliers and additional credits to your regular wins.
As we’ll discuss in the strategy section, the keno bet improves long term payback. But you also have to consider that the 15 coin max bet plus a 5 coin keno wager adds up to $5.00.
When you’ve decided your hand and keno bet, click Deal to receive your 5 card hand. As with all multi hand video poker variations, only your bottom card is dealt face up while the other hands remain face down.
Any card that you hold or discard in the bottom hand is mirrored in the two face down hands. Here’s an example: you keep an ace in your bottom hand, and an ace will be flipped over in both of the face down hands.
When the keno bet is activated, you also select numbers on the onscreen card, just like you would with a regular keno game. The more numbers you select, the more you have to hit to win extra credits and multipliers.
Once your hand and the keno draw are finished, potential payouts are made according to the pay table, and keno winnings / multipliers are added to your win.
As mentioned before, you can either bet 5 credits or 10 credits on the optional keno wager. The difference is that you stand to win larger credit prizes and multipliers when you place the full 10 credit bet.
If you want to achieve the highest possible payback, then the 10 coin keno bet is the best option. But remember that this pushes your overall wager to $6.25 per hand when including the 15 coin base bet.

If you’ve played keno before, then you won’t have any trouble identifying the wins in relation to how many balls you select. If you’re new to keno, you should still be able to pick up the game without much effort.
Example
You make the 10 coin keno bet and select 5 balls, landing 3 of them. Looking at the 10 credit pay table, you’ll receive a 20 coin win along with a 3x multiplier on your overall payout.
If you also get a flush on a 5 coin bet (30 credits), your overall win would now be 110 coins [{30 x 3) + 20].
Keep in mind that the multiplier is only applied to your video poker hand win, and the keno only win is added after the fact.
Earlier we mentioned that the keno bets raise your overall payback. The reason why is because both the 5 coin and 10 coin wagers offer positive expectation.
Below you can see how keno bets affect payback for different video poker variations and pay tables:
- 9 / 5 Jacks or Better payback w / o keno bet: 98.45% payback
- 9 / 5 Jacks or Better w / 5 coin keno bet 5 balls: 98.76% payback
- 9 / 5 Jacks or Better w / 10 coin keno bet 5 balls: 98.97% payback
- 8 / 5 Bonus Poker w / o keno bet: 98.37% payback
- 8 / 5 Bonus Poker w / 5 coin keno bet 5 balls: 98.67% payback
- 8 / 5 Bonus Poker w / 10 coin keno bet 5 balls: 98.89% payback
- 9 / 5 Bonus Poker Deluxe w / o keno bet: 98.55% payback
- 9 / 5 Bonus Poker Deluxe w / 5 coin keno bet 5 balls: 98.85% payback
- 9 / 5 Bonus Poker Deluxe w / 10 coin keno bet 5 balls: 99.05% payback
This sample shows how payback increases as you move from no keno bet, to a 5 coin keno wager, to a 10 coin keno bet.
The long term payoff isn’t much larger than what you’d normally get with these games. Even still, it’s worth making the 10 coin keno bet if you have the bankroll to do so.

As you may know, keno is a volatile game that involves big payouts and low win frequency. You deal with this when you make the optional bet in Triple Play Keno Draw Poker too.
Your extra keno bet won’t pay off most of the time, leaving you out 5 or 10 coins per turn.
If you also fail to win any of your three regular video poker hands, this is $5.00 to $6.25 down the drain.
Of course, the payoff is that you can also hit big wins thanks to your regular payouts combined with multipliers. But just know that you’ll need a bigger bankroll to survive the variance and get these large payouts.
Conclusion
Triple Play Keno Draw Poker combines the randomness and big payouts of keno with the skilled strategy of video poker. This is perfect for any video poker who also enjoys volatile, random games like keno and slots.
The only thing is that you must be willing to bet the max on three hands, plus an additional 5 coin or 10 coin keno wager.
Based on what we discussed with the payback, it’s worth making either keno bet if you want the best long term chance of winning.
But even if you feel like taking a break and not making the keno wager, this game won’t penalize you for doing so.
The only catch is that casinos often use lesser pay tables for Triple Play Keno Draw because of the keno bet’s positive effect on the house edge.
That said, it’s important to find the best pay table that you can with Triple Play Keno Draw video poker in order to boost your odds of winning.
