  • Two of my other favorite picks are for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Las Vegas Raiders to cover.

The NFL Preseason has officially kicked off after the 2023 Hall of Fame Game between the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns. Cleveland mounted an exciting comeback, which was a great way to start off the season.

We can only hope the rest of the 2023 NFL preseason games are this exciting. One way you can always make it more entertaining is by betting on your Week 1 NFL Preseason predictions. You might not get to watch the biggest NFL stars, but lots of players will be battling for roster spots.

These games are still meaningful and they’ll be even more fun to watch if you’re winning real money. Let’s check out the Week 1 NFL Preseason odds from the top sportsbooks to see who is standing out.

Here are the 2023 NFL Preseason odds for Week 1. As you can see, most of these games are projected to be very close. It won’t be easy to make the right picks, but we aren’t afraid of a challenge, right?

The odds don’t heavily favor any teams, which is not a surprise for preseason games. We don’t exactly know which players will be on the field and for how long, so it’s impossible to give one team a large spread.

Sportsbooks would lose all kinds of money if a heavy underdog were to pull off an upset. Since either team can win in the preseason, they won’t be taking that risk.

That said, there are a few teams who tend to perform very well in the preseason. For example, the Baltimore Ravens have won an incredible 23 games in a row, which is an NFL record. The Week 1 Preseason NFL odds have them as one of the heaviest favorites at -4.

Surprisingly enough, that’s not the highest spread of the week. Sean Payton’s Denver Broncos have high expectations right out of the gate. They face a massive -5.5 spread as they get ready to take on the Cardinals on the road.

Top Week 1 NFL Preseason Picks

Now that we’ve broken down the odds, how about we start placing our bets. Above are three of my favorite Week 1 NFL Preseason predictions, each with great odds and a strong chance of winning.

Pittsburgh will head to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers. Mike Tomlin has a strong 37-24 record in the preseason and has won three games in each of the last five seasons. Todd Bowles has a 7-12 preseason record, which includes a winless 2022 (0-3).

Coaching experience is more important than roster buildup in the preseason, so I’m surprised the NFL Week 1 Preseason odds don’t favor Pittsburgh a little more.

I already mentioned Baltimore’s insane preseason winning streak. They’ll put it all on the line against the Philadelphia Eagles. Nick Sirianni’s squad made it to the Super Bowl last year, but he has a 1-4 record in the preseason. They were blown out a few times as well, so Baltimore could continue their dominance.

The Raiders are set to host the San Francisco 49ers and are 4.5-point underdogs. I’ll be betting on them to cover, and an upset win is over the question either.

Las Vegas went 4-0 in the preseason last year under Josh McDaniels. With a lot of roster spots up for grabs, they could be the most motivated bunch in the league.

BetUS is one of the top online football betting sites to use, but it’s also important to shop around for the best possible 2023 NFL Preseason odds for Week 1. Luckily for you, I’ve provided three of my favorite picks and the sites that have the best prices.

NFL Preseason Predictions for Week 1

  • Patriots Over Texans
  • Seahawks Over Vikings
  • Giants Over Lions
  • Steelers Over Buccaneers
  • Bengals Over Packers
  • Dolphins Over Falcons
  • Browns Over Commanders
  • Broncos Over Cardinals
  • Bears Over Titans
  • Bills Over Colts
  • Jets Over Panthers
  • Cowboys Over Jaguars
  • Ravens Over Eagles
  • Rams Over Chargers
  • Chiefs Over Saints
  • Raiders Over 49ers

Feel free to tail or fade my top three picks for this year. You can do the same for all of my moneyline predictions, which you can see above. I already mentioned why I’ll be betting on the Steelers, Ravens, and Raiders, so I won’t dive any deeper into those picks.

The rest of these predictions aren’t easy to make. Some teams have brand new coaches, while others have a lot of roster turnover in general. You can make a strong argument for just about any team, but I still feel strongly about these picks.

Bill Belichick has a 50-38 preseason head coaching record. He has more preseason wins than any other coach and his team will take on the Houston Texans in this matchup. DeMeco Ryans is in his first year with Houston, so it’s hard to rely on him against Belichick.

Joe Burrow’s calf injury was worrying for the Bengals, but the good news is that it could have been much worse. He won’t be playing in this one, which also means that the other Bengals’ QBs will be getting plenty of opportunities to earn the backup job.

The Jets started off strong against the Browns, but Dorian Thompson-Robinson led the comeback effort. Even though the Jets lost, they still benefit from having that extra game under their belt.

I have them bouncing back in this game, and Cleveland winning their second game as well.

The best part about betting on the NFL Week 1 Preseason odds is that there’s a lot of value across the board. I’m betting on a few different underdogs for this week, and I suggest you do too.

Betting on Week 1 NFL Preseason Games

We’ve waited a long time for football season to come back and it’s finally here. No, the preseason isn’t as good as the regular season, but it’s still entertaining. The best way to make it even more fun is to bet on the Week 1 NFL Preseason odds.

If this is your first time betting on the preseason, there are a few things to remember. The first is that any team can win, so don’t be afraid to make a risky pick. Another thing to remember is that coaching experience is more important than which team has more superstars.

Keep that in mind, and you’ll be a preseason betting champion in no time.

Out of all the Week 1 Preseason NFL odds, my favorite bet has to be for Baltimore to cover the spread.

They are 4-point favorites and have been on a legendary winning streak in the preseason. The Eagles lost their last preseason game by a whopping 38 points, so hopefully Baltimore can do something similar.

If you’re looking for more ways to bet on the upcoming season, I recommend betting on the NFL Division Winners for 2023.

You can also bet on the Week 1 NFL odds for the regular season if you don’t care for these exhibition matches.

You can already bet on Week 1 for the NFL at the top sportsbook, such as BetUS. Baltimore, Minnesota, and Kansas City are the heaviest favorites per the NFL Week 1 odds. Some of my favorite bets include Atlanta’s moneyline and the under in Bills vs. Jets....
