  • The 18th annual WWE Backlash is set to take place on Saturday, May 6th, 2023.
  • We have some exciting matchups on tap, with Cody Rhodes a -190 favorite over Brock Lesnar.
  • Bad Bunny is the event’s host and is also favored to win in his solo and tag team matches.

WrestleMania 39 is over, but some unsettled disputes still need to be resolved. That’s what we have Backlash for, right? This year’s event is drawing a lot of hype with some of the biggest names in the business.

The headlining matchup will be between The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes, and The Beast, Brock Lesnar. We also have some intriguing matchups featuring Bianca Belair, Iyo Sky, and more.

If you think you know what happens, you should check out the 2023 WWE Backlash odds. You can win real money off your predictions by using the top WWE gambling apps.

Let’s break down the betting odds for 2023 to see who stands out.

Odds for 2023 WWE Backlash

We are still waiting for the full 2023 Backlash match card, but there are already betting odds for some of the confirmed matches.

You’ll be able to find the WWE Backlash 2023 odds at BetUS, one of the top gambling sites you’ll come across.

Feel free to check out this BetUS review if you want more details. Now that you know where to bet on 2023 Backlash, let’s look at the betting odds for a few matchups.

Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes-190
Brock Lesnar+145

The biggest matchup by far will be between Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes. These two powerhouses have unfinished business from WrestleMania, which is a perfect time to settle it.

Lesnar and Rhodes were teamed up the night after WrestleMania on Raw, but Lesnar betrayed his partner before their match even began.

It was rumored that Lesnar was upset about not getting the main event at WrestleMania, and he took it out on Rhodes.

Since then, Rhodes has challenged Lesnar to a rematch at Backlash, and he accepted. It’ll be interesting to see if this satisfies Lesnar’s need to be in a main event or if he continues his rampage.

I was a bit surprised to see the 2023 WWE Backlash odds for this match. Rhodes is favored to win, while Lesnar is the underdog. Yes, Lesnar did ambush Rhodes, but Rhodes didn’t even get a chance to stand up for himself.

I’m unsure if taking out the element of surprise would make that much of a difference.

Bad Bunny vs. Damian Priest

Bad Bunny-5000
Damian Priest+1000

If you haven’t heard yet, Bad Bunny will be hosting the WWE Backlash event. Bad Bunny was born very close to San Juan, so this is going to be a very big deal for the community.

I’m sure they are going to be making a lot of noise for their favorite artist and now wrestler.

You might be a bit surprised to see the 2023 Backlash odds so heavily in his favor. He’s not a pro wrestler, whereas Damien Priest is.

However, the storyline is heavily in favor of Bad Bunny. That’s a big reason why he’s a dominating favorite in this matchup.

It’s also not uncommon for celebrities to participate in WWE events, and a good amount of them have come out on top. The betting odds imply that Bad Bunny is going to win, but should you bet on him?

From a betting perspective, the only real option you should consider is Priest. -5000 odds is simply not worth the risk, but +1000 has a lot of value.

In the end, Bad Bunny is going to be featured a lot at 2023 Backlash and it’s going to be very exciting.

Bianca Belair vs. Iyo Sky

Bianca Belair-550
Iyo Sky+325

Bianca Belair is putting her belt on the line for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship Match at Backlash. She’ll be taking on Iyo Sky, who has earned her shot of being the top contender after winning a triple-threat match.

Sky is a part of Damage CTRL, which consists of Bayley (leader) and Dakota Kai. These three lost their match at WrestleMania 39 to Becky Lynch, Lita, and Trish Stratus.

After that, Sky defeated Yim and Piper Niven at Raw to earn her shot at the title.

The Backlash odds imply that she’s going to have a tough time against Belair, which isn’t a huge surprise. Belair successfully defended her crown by defeating Asuka at WrestleMania 39 by pinfall.

She claimed the Raw Women’s Championship title after defeating Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 38. Belair was pinned by Damage CTRL leader Bayley, but she retained her title shortly after.

I would assume that Belair is not going to take it easy on another member from Damage CTRL.

The betting odds are heavily in Belair’s favor, but Sky could make for an intriguing underdog at her price. Maybe Bayley will give her a few tips for how to take down the current champ.

Rhea Ripley vs. Zelina Vega

Rhea Ripley-10000
Zelina Vega+1100

Next up, we have the matchup between Rhea Ripley and Zelina Vega. Belair is the current Raw Women’s Champ, but Rhea Ripley is the SmackDown champ.

She will look to defend her title against Vega, who told Adam Pearce (WWE Official) of her intentions to challenge Ripley.

Vega is a Puerto Rican native, so this is going to be a big event for her. The Backlash betting odds imply that she has a small chance of winning, but we’ve seen crazier things happen.

Could Vega pull off a massive upset? If so, you wouldn’t want to miss out on her betting odds.

Ripley’s not going to go down easy, though. She outlasted 29 other wrestlers at this year’s Royal Rumble. After that, she defeated Charlotte Flair to earn the championship belt.

This should be an exciting matchup, even though the 2023 Backlash betting odds imply that it won’t be very close.

WWE United States Championship Match

Austin Theory-400
Bronson Reed+250
Bobby Lashley+500

Next up is a throw down for the United States Championship. Austin Theory will look to defend his title against Bronson Reed and Bobby Lashley. Theory recently faced Lashley in a non-title match, but Reed intervened.

Lashley revealed to Theory that he requested the free-for-all match, but Theory wasn’t afraid to clap back at him.

Reed was defeated by Lashley at the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. That was likely Reed’s determination for interfering with Lashley and Theory’s last match.

All three of these wrestlers have their reasons for taking each other down. Theory is the current champion, so it’s not a surprise to see him favored to win. However, he will face both Lashley and Reed.

This could be a major challenge for Theory, and we might see a new champ by the end of this brawl.

Six-Man Tag Team Match

Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens & Matt Riddle-175
The Bloodline+135

Here are the 2023 WWE Backlash odds for the Six-Man Tag Team Match.

Matt Riddle will join Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens in an attempt to take down The Bloodline. The Bloodline’s leader is Roman Reigns, but the trio in this match will be Solo Sikoa and The Usos.

Zayn and Owens took down The Usos at WrestleMania 39 for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. It wasn’t long ago when Zayn was a part of The Bloodline. He attacked Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble, which prompted his exit.

The former member and his partners are favored to win this match. This doesn’t come as a huge surprise, especially since they just won the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship against the same people.

Zayn, Owens, and Riddle want to take down The Bloodline. Do you think they do it at Backlash? If so, head over to BetUS to place your bets on them.

Best Bets for 2023 Backlash

  • Brock Lesnar to Defeat Cody Rhodes (+225)
  • Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens & Matt Riddle to Defeat The Bloodline (-155)

Now that we’ve broken down a few of the upcoming matchups, it’s time to place our bets on who we think wins. The good news is that the 2023 WWE Backlash odds have a lot of value for just about every option.

Obviously, these matches could go either way. Every single wrestler has a ton of motivation to win and to settle their disputes. That’s what Backlash is all about, right?

From a betting perspective, there are some options that are more appealing than others.

For example, Brock Lesnar is considered an underdog against Cody Rhodes. After watching WrestleMania 39, it’s hard to say why Rhodes is favored to win.

Lesnar completely destroyed Rhodes to the point where Rhodes couldn’t even fight back. You could argue that the backstabbing helped Lesnar, but seeing Lesnar as the underdog is still surprising. For that reason, I’m betting on him to win their match.

If you’re looking to bet on Lesnar, I suggest doing it at BetOnline. You can get slightly better odds (+225) on their site compared to BetUS.

A match in which I’m not taking the underdog is with Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, and Matt Riddle. This group is motivated to take down The Bloodline, and they just might do it.

Zayn and Owens just defeated The Usos, so why wouldn’t they be able to do it again?

2023 WWE Backlash Predictions

  • Brock Lesner to Defeat Cody Rhodes
  • Matt Riddle, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn to Defeat The Bloodline
  • Omos to Defeat Seth Rollins
  • Austin Theory to Defeat Bobby Lashley and Bronson Reed
  • Zelina Vega to Defeat Rhea Ripley

As I said, we don’t have the full 2023 Backlash match card. However, some fights are likely to happen. We should get the betting odds for each match once they get confirmed, but it’s all speculation for now.

I’m sticking with my original prediction for Brock Lesnar to defeat Cody Rhodes. I also think The Bloodline loses to Matt Riddle, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn.

There’s a good chance for an upset in the United States Championship, but I feel as if Reed is more motivated against Lashley than Theory.

Seth Rollins is one of the best in the business, but he might be a little outside of his comfort zone against Omos.

I have Omos winning in an upset, but that’s not as daring of a pick compared to Zelina Vega over Rhea Ripley. The Puerto Rican community should have Vega’s back, so I’m taking my chances here.

It’s also a good idea to scout for the best available WWE Backlash 2023 odds across the top sites. Having numerous go-to sportsbooks has it’s perks, after all. Here’s some advice on how to find and sign up for more reputable online betting sites.

Advice for Betting on WWE Backlash in 2023

WrestleMania 39 was a historical event, and some storylines still need to be resolved. Backlash is a perfect time for these wrestlers to settle any disputes that they feel necessary.

The headliner match is going to be between Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes. Rhodes came up short against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, and Lesnar also ambushed him the next day to make matters worse.

Will Rhodes finally be able to get out of his slump? Taking down Lesnar is not going to be an easy task.

I think Lesnar wins this one, and his 2023 WWE Backlash odds make this my favorite bet at +145.

There are even more matches to bet on, but this one will draw most of the attention. If you’re looking to bet on the WWE, feel free to make predictions for each match.
