  • The 2024 Democratic candidate odds at BetUS favor the current president Joe Biden (-300) to win.
  • His top contenders are projected to be Gavin Newsom (+400) and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (+800).
  • My prediction is for Joe Biden to win as he tries to earn his second presidential term.

2024 is just a few short months away, which means the next presidential election will be here before we know it.

Election campaigns will start to ramp up, and heated debates will take place. After all that, the United States will decide who will be the next Commander-in-Chief.

Not only can you bet on who the next president will be at the top political betting sites, but you can also bet on the Democratic and Republican nominees.

If you’re confident in who you think will win, I recommend putting your money where your mouth is. You can win some serious cash by predicting who wins these crucial races.

I’ll be breaking down the 2024 Democratic candidate odds from the top sites and offering my insight and final prediction. If you’re not too busy betting on Donald Trump props, let’s head over to the Democratic side of things.

Odds to Win the 2024 Democratic Race

Joe Biden-300
Gavin Newsom+450
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.+800
Kamala Harris+1400
Michelle Obama+1400
Gretchen Whitmer+4000
Pete Buttigieg+4000
Hillary Clinton+4000
Bernie Sanders+6500
Beto O’Rourke+6500

Here are the 2024 Democratic candidate odds from BetUS. As you can see, current president Joe Biden is the favorite to win with a -300 price.

21 of the 46 total US presidents have served a second term, which comes out to around 45%.

Donald Trump is the favorite to win the Republican nominee, so there’s a good chance our next president will serve a second term.

Gavin Newsom is the next-most favored option at +450. The Governor of California has stated that he has no intentions of running for office, but many believe that he will. If he eventually changes his mind, at least publicly, then he could have a real chance.

Only two have declared they are running for president: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Marianne Williamson.

Kennedy is third on the odds list, while Williamson is a super longshot with a +10000 price. Kamala Harris and Michelle Obama have +1400 odds each, followed by Gretchen Whitmer, Pete Buttigieg, and Hillary Clinton at +4000.

These are all legitimate candidates, but their odds imply they have a slim chance of winning.

Why Is Joe Biden the Betting Favorite?

So, the 2024 Democratic candidate odds favor Joe Biden, but why? His approval rating isn’t all that great, and he’s 80 years old.

Well, the main reason is because he’s already president. He essentially has a head start compared to his competition.

The other Democratic nominees don’t have as much name recognition as Joe Biden, which could be the deciding factor for a lot of voters. They’d rather vote for someone they know rather than someone they don’t.

Only five presidents failed to win the primary for their second term. Franklin Pierce was the first to do so back in 1856, losing the race to James Buchanan. The other four sitting presidents who lost the primary took over office after the previous president was killed.

So, of the five presidents to lose the primary, only one of them served a full term. Joe Biden will serve a full term, which means he has a very good chance of winning again, at least according to history.

Biden’s approval rating may be low, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s in trouble of losing the Democratic primary.

In the end, it’s rare for a sitting president to lose the primary for their second term. That’s why Biden is such a heavy favorite across the top betting sites.

Speaking of which, it’s always a good idea to shop around for the best available odds. You can find -250 odds for Biden to win at Bovada, so head over to their site if you think he’s going to win!

Other Contenders to Win the Democratic Race

Gavin Newsom+450
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.+800
Kamala Harris+1400
Michelle Obama+1400

It’ll be risky to bet against Joe Biden, but in case you did, there are a few good options to consider.

In terms of odds, the top four contenders are Gavin Newsom, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Kamala Harris, and Michelle Obama.

As I mentioned earlier, there’s speculation that Newsom will run for president. He’s done a phenomenal job as the Governor of California, specifically from an economic standpoint.

California’s economy would rank fifth in the world if it was its own country.

Joe Biden’s economy is often criticized, so Newsom could be seen as a better option for voters.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has taken a strong and ill-advised stance against vaccines, claiming they cause autism. He also compared the mandates to Nazi Germany, which he apologized for.

As we’ve seen with Donald Trump, spreading conspiracy theories isn’t enough to prevent you from getting into office, let alone winning the Democratic primary.

That said, it’s an awfully risky approach.

Technically Vice President Kamala Harris can run for the POTUS position, but it’s very unlikely. Something would have to happen to Biden for her to be considered a realistic option.

Michelle Obama would not be the first former first lady to win the Democratic primary. Hillary Clinton actually won the popular vote for the presidential election in 2016, but Donald Trump was elected president.

The former first lady was active while Barack Obama was in office and has remained a political activist over the years. She would likely have a strong following if she were to run herself. Would it be enough to overtake Biden or anyone else? We will have to see.

Take a closer look at Michelle Obama’s president odds for 2024 before making the call.

If you don’t think these contenders have a chance, you might be ready to move onto the 2024 US Presidential Election odds.

Predicting Who’ll Lead the 2024 Democratic Party

If you want to get into political betting, the 2024 Democratic candidate odds are a great place to start.

You can try your luck with a longshot bet like Gavin Newsom or Robert F. Kennedy Jr. or go with the current president Joe Biden.

I’ll be betting on Joe Biden since it’s uncommon for a sitting president to lose a primary. It’s only happened five times before, and four of those presidents took over for someone else.

Biden isn’t perfect, but another candidate is unlikely to beat him out. Gavin Newsom would have the best chance, but it’s unclear if he will even run for office.

I was a bit surprised to see Biden’s odds at their current price. It seems very likely that he will win the race, so I was expecting odds in the -500 range. But hey, I’m not complaining.

If you’re looking for the best odds for Biden, you’ll want to visit Bovada. They have him at -250.
