  • Bovada’s 2024 Monaco Grand Prix odds favor Max Verstappen to win, but only at -140.
  • Charles Leclerc (+550) and Lando Norris (+550) are priced as the clear contenders.
  • Legendary F1 star Lewis Hamilton remains an elite betting value (+500) to consider.

The 2024 Monaco Grand Prix odds give Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, and Lando Norris the best chances to stand on the podium. My guide to betting on the Monaco Grand Prix tells you why Max Verstappen is favored to win, and why it’s a good choice to bet on him to win even though he’s the favorite.

I’ll also reveal my longshot bets to win the race, and predict if Ferrari and McLaren may finally be able to dethrone the dominant Red Bull team.

Keep reading to learn how to bet on the Monaco GP, including my best bet to win big in one of motorsport’s marquee races.

Odds to Win the 2024 Monaco GP

The latest 2024 Monaco Grand Prix odds favor Max Verstappen, and why wouldn’t they? The Dutchman has won the last three world championships in a row and appears to be well on his way to a fourth.

Bovada has the best Monaco Grand Prix odds online, rating the top 10 driver’s odds as follows:

  • Max Verstappen (-140)
  • Charles Leclerc (+550)
  • Lando Norris (+550)
  • Oscar Piastri (+1000)
  • Sergio Perez (+1200)
  • Carlos Sainz (+1600)
  • Fernando Alonso (+5000)
  • George Russell (+5000)
  • Lewis Hamilton (+5000)
  • Lance Stroll (+10000)

Max Verstappen is favored to win the Monaco GP, to the surprise of absolutely no one. Leclerc and Norris are favored to occupy the final two podium spots, just like they did in Imola last week. The two McLarens of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri join Verstappen’s teammate Sergio Perez to round out the top five.

You’ll find quickly that Verstappen is favored everywhere, but Bovada has the best odds and is one of the best online sports betting sites you can use. Getting Verstappen at -140 for any race is insane, so if you like him to win this event, head to Bovada to back him now.

Why is Max Verstappen Favored to Win?

Max Verstappen

So why exactly is Verstappen expected to win the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix? Well for starters he’s won 24 of the last 29 races and finished an average of 13 seconds ahead of his next-best competitor in the 2023 season.

It might not seem like much, but 13 seconds is an eternity in the majority of motorsports.

Max Verstappen equaled Aryton Senna’s consecutive pole record last week with his eighth pole in a row.

This is particularly noteworthy because overtaking on the streets of Monaco is nearly impossible. 13 of the past 20 winners began the race on pole, and it’s common to see less than five total overtakes in Monaco—making Saturday’s qualifying session just as important as Sunday’s main race, possibly even more so.

While Verstappen hasn’t dominated the field the way he did in 2023, he’s still the fastest and most consistent driver on the grid. That, combined with his ability to grab the pole and maintain the lead for the entire race, is why Max Verstappen is my no-brainer pick to win the Monaco GP in 2024.

Normally one would not bet on the odds-on favorite to win as they often come with low payouts. But the much-improved Ferrari and McLaren cars are beginning to threaten Red Bull, so betting on Verstappen to win at -140 is a good bet. Wagering $10 on Max to emerge victorious in Monaco would get you $7, a better return than the $1.67 the same bet would have won a week ago when Max was the -600 favorite.

Top 2024 Monaco GP Contenders

Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc are the next two most favored drivers to win Monaco after Verstappen, just as they were last week at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola.

Even though Max is likely to win in Monaco, 19 other drivers on the grid will do their best to ensure he doesn’t. Here are my top picks not-named-Verstappen to win the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix.

Charles Leclerc (+550)

Charles Leclerc would love nothing more than to win in his hometown. The Monegasque driver has never won at his home race, though he did lead in 2022 before bad team orders knocked him down to fourth.

Leclerc hasn’t won pole yet this season, but he’s already shown himself to be a threat nonetheless. He’s scored four podiums in seven races and is the only pilot to finish in the top four in every race so far. The Ferrari showed promise in Imola, with Leclerc himself finishing the first free-practice sessions on top of the board. Qualifying saw Leclerc drop down to fourth, though he would secure the final spot on the podium in the main race.

Betting $10 on Leclerc to win in Monaco is, in my opinion, the best non-Verstappen bet. $10 on Leclerc would return $55, and I think his quest to win in his hometown will give him extra motivation to best both Verstappen and the next person on my list of Monaco contenders—Lando Norris.

Lando Norris (+550)

Norris finished .700 seconds behind Verstappen in Imola, and could have potentially scored his second career victory if not for a few mistakes in the final laps. The Woking-based squad’s hard work in the factory is paying off, as Lando’s McLaren was able to keep pace with Verstappen’s Red Bull; though just barely.

If Norris can score a top-two finish in qualifying he’ll have a chance to win again, though he’ll have to run the lap of his life if he’s to beat both Max and Charles in qualifying.

A $10 wager on Lando Norris (+550) to win the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix will net you $55 (same as Leclerc), and there are certainly much worse bets out there. I would bet on Leclerc to win before Norris, though that could be wishful thinking on my part. If the pressure to win at home proves to be too much for Leclerc, or if he makes a mistake as he has been prone to do in the past, Norris would easily be my number-two pick (after Verstappen) to win in Monaco.

Oscar Piastri (+1000)

The driver with the next best odds in Monaco is none other than Oscar Piastri. The Australian qualified second in Imola but received a three-place grid penalty for impeding Kevin Magnussen during Q1. He would finish in fourth, but I can’t help but wonder how the race could have turned out had Piastri and Norris been able to launch a two-car attack on Max.

A $10 bet on Piastri (+1000) would net you $1,000 if he wins. Although Norris’s chances of winning in Monaco aren’t significantly higher than Piastri’s, a Piastri victory is plausible, if not likely. While I would still favor Norris over Piastri, a Piastri win seems inevitable, and betting on him in Monaco might not be a bad idea.

Best 2024 Monaco GP Sleepers

  • Sergio Perez (+1200)
  • Carlos Sainz (+1600)

Sergio Perez (+1200) is a natural longshot choice. The Mexican driver sits in the same car as Max Verstappen, after all.

Perez sits only six points behind Leclerc in the Driver’s Championship standings, and 2024 is proving to be a better campaign for “Checo” than 2023 was. Perez won the Monaco GP in 2022 with Red Bull, if he can repeat the feat this year a $10 bet will return a cool $120.

For nearly two full calendar years the only non-Red Bull driver to win in F1 was Carlos Sainz. “The Smooth Operator” has scored victories in England, Singapore, and Australia, respectively.

His Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc has pulled away from Sainz in the championship this year, scoring 113 points to Sainz’s 93. Don’t let that number fool you, however, as Sainz lost big points when he contracted appendicitis and was replaced in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

$10 on Sainz (+1600) to emerge victorious at the 20224 Monaco Grand Prix would pay out $160, more than $100 than betting the same amount on Charles Leclerc. Leclerc is still the safer wager, but if you’re looking to take a risk betting on the Monaco GP then Carlos Sainz could be worth putting money down for.

2024 Monaco GP Predictions

With any luck my 2024 Monaco Grand Prix predictions can help you win money at some of the top F1 betting sites online, including Bovada, which has the best Formula 1 odds available online.

Max Verstappen (-140) is still the best bet. His victory last week in Imola would have returned $1.67 on a $10 bet while betting the same $10 for the Monaco GP would win you just over $7.

After Max, Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc are the most favored at +550 each. I would bet on Verstappen over these two for Monaco, personally. For a longer odds-pick, I’d go with Oscar Piastri at +1000. I think Norris has a better chance to win the race than Piastri does, but if I wasn’t betting on Max I’d go for the bigger payout of a Piastri victory.

I can’t recommend anyone bet against Max Verstappen at this point. He’s been the most consistent race winner over the last two-plus years and shows no sign of slowing down. Even though McLaren and Ferrari have significantly closed the gap to Red Bull, every Formula 1 race is Max’s to lose and the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix is no different.
