2025 Aussie Rules Odds & Predictions
The Aussie Rules odds suggest that the 2025 season is going to be one of the most exciting ones in the 128-year-long history of the Australian Football League (AFL). The new season kicks off on March 6, 2025, so there’s still plenty of time to make your bets.
But then again, nothing’s stopping you to do it straight away as Aussie Rules odds are available at BetOnline and other betting sites. In case you don’t know which AFL team to back, I’m here to help with my predictions.
Odds to Win the 2025 Aussie Rules Title
The 2025 Aussie Rules odds are great whichever betting site you visit. Still, for the bet I’m planning to make, I think BetOnline is the best option. Take a look at the odds table below and you’ll see what I mean.
Team | AFL Odds |
---|---|
Brisbane Lions | +600 |
Hawthorn Hawks | +700 |
Carlton Blues | +800 |
Fremantle Dockers | +800 |
GWS Giants | +800 |
Sydney Swans | +800 |
Collingwood Magpies | +900 |
Geelong Cats | +900 |
There are 18 teams taking part in the 2025 AFL season, but only those eight have Aussie Rules odds shorter than +1000. Most other teams come with much longer odds, with Richmond Tigers being the biggest underdog at +25000.
BetOnline is the best online sportsbook for 2025 AFL odds as even the biggest favorites come with great value. The top favorite is priced at +600, which means that with a $100 bet, you can make a $600 profit.
Another reason why BetOnline is a fantastic choice for Aussie Rules betting is that this sportsbook provides coverage of individual games as well. At this point, the odds aren’t yet up for the first round of the 2025 AFL, but you can be sure they’ll pop up days before March 6.
Why Is Brisbane the Aussie Rules Favorite?
Brisbane is the team with the shortest Aussie Rules odds in 2025, the main reason being that the Lions are the defending champions. They won the Premiership Cup relatively easily, beating the Sydney Swans 120:60 in the Grand Final.
In the regular season, however, they weren’t that impressive. In fact, the Lions finished in fifth place with 10 points fewer than the Swans, who won the No. 1 spot.
Their form was inconsistent in the home-and-away season, but they considerably upped their game once the playoffs started. Midfielder Lachie Neale really improved his form once the postseason started, the same as key defender Harris Andrews and others.
The best thing is that those guys are still on Brisbane’s roster, which suggests that we might see the same from them in 2025. If you think they’re going to win the title again, why not bet on the Lions at BetOnline?
Top 2025 Aussie Rules Contenders
Who’s going to win the 2025 AFL? If not Brisbane, who else? Well, there are seven other teams with the Aussie Rules odds shorter than +1000, including Hawthorn and Carlton, who seem to be Brisbane’s biggest rivals in the hunt for the 2025 trophy.
Hawthorn Hawks (+700)
The Hawthorn Hawks are second on the list of top 2025 AFL favorites with +700 odds. They didn’t do great last season, but their 2025 roster looks pretty decent. The club did a fine job in the trade period, signing a couple of elite defenders like Tom Barass and Josh Battle.
They’ve also kept a majority of their key players from the last season, most notably, fan-favorite James Sicily, who’s been with the team for over a decade.
Carlton Blues (+800)
Last season, these guys were incredible on the offense. Their defense, however, wasn’t as great, especially in the regular season. This explains why they struggled to get to the postseason, only finishing in the No. 8 position.
As a result, they had to play against Brisbane in the first round of the playoffs. They ended up losing that game 99:77, but in 2025, they’re looking for payback.
Sydney Swans (+800)
There are four teams with the Aussie Rules of +800, but I think that only two of those stand a good chance of winning the title. The first of those is Carlton and the other is Sydney. In fact, I’m a bit surprised that the Swans don’t have even shorter odds.
Maybe it’s because last season, top Australian sportsbooks saw Sydney as the top favorite, but they ended up finishing second. But the fact is that they were great in 2024, finishing in the No. 1 spot in the regular season. They did okay in the playoffs as well but were stopped by the Lions in the Grand Final.
Best 2025 Aussie Rules Sleeper Pick
Port Adelaide Power is my top sleeper pick for the 2025 AFL. These guys finished the 2024 regular season in second place, with just four points fewer than Sydney.
They had the best defense in the league last year, but their offense wasn’t too dangerous, which explains why they didn’t get far in the playoffs.
On top of that, they lost several key men to injuries in the closing weeks of the 2024 season – Allir Allir, Kane Farrell, and a few others. In 2025, they’re all fit and ready for the new season. If they stay healthy, Port Adelaide Power could exceed expectations and possibly even win the title.
If you think they can pull it off, now is the right time to bet on these guys as they’re priced at +1500 at BetOnline. If this sounds risky, my advice is to grab some sports bonuses and use free credits to bet on Port Adelaide.
Aussie Rules Betting Tips
If you’ve never bet on Aussie Rules, there are some things you should know about. If you do your research, you will increase your chance of picking the right team. So, which factors should you pay attention to when doing our research? Here are some:
Last Season’s Performances
The previous season of the AFL finished in late September, that is, some five months ago. Things just can’t change that much over that period, which is why it’s very likely that the teams that did well in 2024 will do okay in 2025.
AFL Trade Period
The AFL trade period was last October, and we saw a total of 19 trades, along with seven free-agency signings. Many top clubs strengthened their rosters (e.g., Hawthorn), while some let several of their key men go (Richmond).

2025 Aussie Rules Prediction
- Sydney Swans to Win the 2025 AFL (+800) – Bet Now!
I’m fairly confident that the Sydney Swans will do great in 2025. They were fantastic last season, and this time around, their squad looks even better. These guys finished second twice in the last three years, I think it’s really time for them to break the spell.
Although they’re not the team with the shortest 2025 Aussie Rules odds, bookmakers seem to agree with me that the Swans are serious contenders.
Personally, I’m going to put some money on Sydney at BetOnline, where the odds are +800. While there, you can also do some rugby betting, as well as bet on the Super Bowl.
