  • The early 2024 Australian Open odds are incredibly close, with no minus-money favorites.
  • Novak Djokovic is the No. 1 favorite to win his 11th Australian Open trophy in January.
  • Iga Swiatek is a +225 favorite to win her first-ever Australian Open Grand Slam trophy.

The 2024 Australian Open odds are already out, and they suggest Novak Djokovic will win his 25th Grand Slam.

If he does win it, the Serbian will break the record for the oldest Australian Open winner – he’s going to be 36 years, 8 months, and 6 days old on Sunday, January 28, 2024, which is when the AO2024 Final will take place at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.

The 2024 Australian Open betting odds favor him, but maybe it’s time for some young lion to become the king of the Happy Slam? Maybe it’s going to be 20-year-old Carlos Alcaraz or 27-year-old Daniil Medvedev?

Things are even more interesting in the Women’s Singles tournament. The 2024 Australian Open tennis odds suggest we’re going to see Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, and Elena Rybakina battle hard for the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup.

Let’s dive further into the best 2024 Australian Open picks in the next section.

The Australian Open Men’s odds favor Novak Djokovic, which is only reasonable given that he’s the record-holder for the most Australian Open wins with 10 trophies in his cupboard.

However, he’s almost 37, which explains why Carlos Alcaraz – who’s 16 years his junior – is seen as second favorite with only slightly longer Australian Open odds.

Daniil Medvedev is third on the list of top AO24 favorites, who came close to winning the Happy Slam two years ago when Djokovic beat him in a 5-set thriller.

Jannik Sinner is the No. 4 favorite and the only other player with the Australian Open betting odds shorter than +1000. The 22-year-old Italian is still without a single Grand Slam win, but judging by his performances in 2023, he probably won’t have to wait for too long to get one.

If you like these 2024 Australian Open betting odds, consider betting at a reputable site like BetUS, which offers a welcome bonus of 125% up to $2,500.

The 2024 Australian Open tennis odds you see above are from BetOnline. This online sportsbook often pops up in the conversation about the best betting sites bonuses thanks to its 100% up to $1,000 crypto bonus and other deals.

Still, the No. 1 reason why I used BetOnline for the AO24 odds is that they all come with great value. In the Women’s Singles Tournament, there are four players with odds shorter than +1000, namely, Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, and Elena Rybakina.

The only active player who’s won this tournament on multiple occasions is Victoria Azarenka, whose Australian Open Women’s odds are +6600.

BetOnline is a great all-in-one sportsbook with an excellent range of deposit methods. Be sure to read our BetOnline review for all that before heading there to place wages on the 2024 Australian Open tennis odds.

Top 2024 Australian Open Contenders

Novak Djokovic is the No. 1 favorite to win the Men’s Singles trophy, while in the Women’s tournament, it’s Iga Swiatek. Their main threats in the 2024 AO are Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka, respectively.

The reason why Alcaraz stands a chance to dethrone Djokovic is that he’s coming off a fantastic season. In 2023, he won at Wimbledon and reached the semifinal stage at the French and US Open.

The 20-year-old Spaniard had to skip the last Australian Open due to an injury, but one year later, he’s determined to win it. His motivation is that this is the only Grand Slam tournament in which he’s never gone past the third round.

Over in the Women’s Singles, Iga Swiatek is favored to win, but you can be 100% certain that the reigning champion Aryna Sabalenka will not give up without a fight.

Best 2024 Australian Open Sleepers

Rafael Nadal’s 2024 Australian Open odds to win are +1400, making him a sleeper. This is because the 37-year-old Spaniard is coming off his worst season in years.

Actually, when it comes to his Grand Slam campaign, 2023 was the worst year of his career.

It’s all due to injuries, but the Spaniard seems to be in top shape again. As 2024 could be his final season, you can be 100% sure that he will do his best to win at least one tournament.

Sure, it’s the French Open he’s focused on, but this doesn’t mean he’d refuse an opportunity to win his third Australian Open trophy.

Like Nadal in Men’s Singles, Bianca Andreescu’s resurgence might start in the 2024 Women’s Singles tournament at the Australian Open. A few years ago, the Canadian player was seen as the next big thing in tennis, but a knee injury in 2020 ruined her plans.

Even though she did bounce back since, even breaking into the top 10 in the WTA Rankings at one point, she’s yet to get to the same level as pre-injury. The good news, however, is that she’s only 23, with plenty of time to climb back to the top.

Australian Open Betting Tips & Strategy

We’re weeks away from the AO24, but this doesn’t mean you should refrain from betting on this event. Actually, it’s just the opposite because the early 2024 Australian Open odds are amazing.

They’re bound to shorten, for some players, at least. For example, I think it’s very likely that you won’t get such a great value on Djokovic as +110, which is currently offered at BetUS. The same goes for Carlos Alcaraz’s odds, which are currently +240.

Making early AO bets is my top advice for you, but it’s not the only one. I’ve got a few other tips for you, which you’ll learn about below.

Choosing the Right Betting Site

Lucrative odds are important, but only if you’re betting at a legit site. There’s no point in betting on attractive odds at shady sites that might not pay you if you win.

BetUS, BetOnline, and all the other gambling sites I’ve mentioned in my AO24 preview are 100% legitimate and thus ideal for US customers. But what if you’re not based in America?

You can find the list of the best sites for your country elsewhere on our website. For instance, we’ve got a list of the top sites for online gambling in Australia and one for Canada and many other countries.

Claiming the Best Bonuses

It’s safe to say that a huge majority of online gambling sites have at least some bonus deals on the table. My advice for you is to claim those deals, especially if they allow you to use the bonus for Australian Open betting.

It’s basically free money, so you can use it to place some bets that would otherwise be too risky. You can bet on Nadal at +1400, for example, knowing that it won’t be your hard-earned money you’d lose if he doesn’t win the trophy.

Backing Players Who Excell at Hardcourt

I would advise putting your own money on Nadal winning the Australian Open, as the Spaniard is an expert on clay rather than hardcourt, which is the surface used in Melbourne.

If he’s the king of clay, Djokovic is the king of the hardcourt. Carlos Alcaraz is also pretty decent on this surface, and so is Daniil Medvedev.

In the WTA Tournament, you better stick to the top favorites who are all great on this surface, but also don’t let Jessica Pegula and Ons Jabeur fly under your radar.

Early 2024 Australian Open Predictions

  • Novak Djokovic to Win the 2024 ATP Australian Open at +110 at BetUS
  • Iga Swiatek to Win the 2024 WTA Australian Open at +225 at BetOnline

Djokovic and Swiatek are my top 2024 Australian Open predictions.

I’m sure the ATP No. 1 is going to win the Men’s Singles tournament. Not only is Djokovic the best player in the world, but the Australian Open is also his favorite tourney.

He is the record holder for the most titles in Australia, with 10 trophies in his collection. Adding another one would further cement his claim on the tennis GOAT status.

When it comes to the Women’s Singles tournament, my 2024 Australian Open pick is Iga Swiatek. I believe she’s the best female player in the world today.

Plus, I’m sure she will be super motivated to win in Melbourne, as the Australian Open is one of just two majors she hasn’t won so far (the other one being Wimbledon).
