4 Best MLB Player Prop Bets for Friday
MLB player prop bets are a dime a dozen. All of the best baseball betting sites tend to offer them, and your options are endless. However, actually winning from them is another story, so you need to be selective when picking your bets.
It gets even more complicated when trying to piece together an MLB parlay. My suggestion, especially if you’re just getting started, is to choose a site with the best odds, research a prop bet to the point you feel great about it, and stick to individual wagers.
Parlays are certainly where the upside lies, but straight bets give you a better chance of cashing regularly. Today I’ll be pushing out my four favorite MLB player props. I’ve done the research for you and pulled the odds from BetUS (read our BetUS review to learn more). I suggest attacking these MLB player prop bets individually, but feel free to parlay them at BetUS if you’re feeling ambitious.
Chris Sale Over 6.5 Ks (+106)
Plus money for Chris Sale to whiff the Washington Nationals seven times? Sign me up. Seriously, Sale is in for a big bounce-back outing tonight, as he got shelled to the tune of eight runs over four innings versus Oakland.
Not great, Bob.
That was a rough one, to be sure. However, we know Sale has been a stud on the year. He’s sporting a still rock solid 3.06 ERA with a 0.98 WHIP. Oh, and he’s getting a punchless Nats lineup that has a collective .108 ISO coming into this matchup.
This is quickly looking like one of the best Over bets of the day.

Chris Sale 6.5 Ks “O”

Chris Sale has been a monster this season covering this line in 8/11 games. He’s also been nails on the road covering in 4/4 away games this season.

It’s true Washington only strikes out about 20% of the time versus lefties, but I’d lean towards the pitcher’s side in this one. Sale had previously topped 8+ Ks in each of his five games before getting blown up by the Athletics, and he’s had 7+ strikeouts eight times on the year.
The matchup isn’t perfect, but Sale should snap back into his elite form and the plus money for a totally reachable K total is calling to me.
Garrett Crochet Over 7.5 Ks (-129)
One more MLB strikeout prop I like for today is White Sox ace Garrett Crochet to get 8 punch outs. You’re not getting plus money and the total is admittedly high, but the dude has been balling all season.
Boston’s bats have been red hot lately, but this is a prime spot to bet on them to cool down considerably. Most of their power comes from the left side of the plate and he has an insane 43% strikeout rate against left-handed hitters. He’s even holding lefties to a .054 ISO.
Translation? He strikes the heck out of batters from that side of the plate, doesn’t give up power to lefties, and still makes righties miss at a 32% clip. Oh, and the projected Boston lineup has a disgusting .118 ISO and strikes out 28% of the time against southpaws.
All of that sounds amazing. Crochet also doesn’t have to deal with them at Fenway Park, either. He gets them at home, where he’s had a sparkling 2.50 ERA on the season. Did I mention his recent form has been amazing? He’s topped this total three times over his last five starts. You can hunt for superior pricing or a lower K total, but I think it’s a great bet as it stands at BetUS.
Spencer Steer Over 0.5 Runs/RBI (-150)
The price doesn’t get better with this MLB prop bet. However, if you want to bet on Steer to get a hit the price doubles. And betting on him hitting a homer (while a solid bet with upside) is obviously riskier.
I am actually open to all of them, but if he does hit a home run you can hit this wager immediately and you’re not assuming the same risk. Steer has other paths to converting this bet, though, as he could have a sac fly, an RBI single, or simply get on and score himself.
There’s a reason why there is growing public interest in him tonight.

Spencer Steer
Has a .391 ISO against LHP in the last month and draws Justin Steele who this year is allowing .207 ISO and nearly a .180 HR/9 to RHH. Great weather at one of most hitter friendly environments in baseball at GABP.

Whatever the case, I like Steer’s chances to do some damage tonight. He does face a quality lefty in Justin Steele, but the Cubs pitcher has given up a .205 ISO to right-handed batters on the year. As for Steer? He comes into the day mashing southpaws (.246 ISO). He also sports a nice 12.8% walk rate and only whiffs at a 19% clip.
The matchup looks advantageous by the numbers for Steer, who is part of a Reds team that can be dangerous at home. They’re in arguably the best park for offense in the majors, this game has a 9 run total, and the wind is blowing out at 10 mph tonight.
Yordan Alvarez to Hit a HR (+200)
Okay, my last MLB player prop bet for Friday will offer a bit more value. You got plus money with my first MLB player prop for today, and the next two were probably safer bets, but offered less upside. Now we’re swinging for the fences.
It’s actually not a crazy bet, even though I am literally suggesting you back a dude to, well, swing for the fences. The aforementioned Steer is also viable here, but Alvarez looks good at +200 and he’s facing a far worse pitcher.
The matchup looks good from all angles for Yordan. He comes in with a .230 ISO against right-handed pitching, plus he has a .363 wOBA, a low 14% strikeout rate, and walks 9.4% of the time. The point? He’s a stud and as long as he doesn’t eat walks tonight, I like his chances to absolutely smoke one.
The big reason why is because he faces Griffin Canning in a ballpark that has been seeing a lot of runs scored. This game has a solid 8.5 run total at most US sports betting sites, Houston is favored, and Alvarez gets to put his awesome numbers up against Canning, who is allowing a 0.266 ISO versus lefty bats.
Betting on MLB Player Props Tonight (6/7)
Those are my four favorite MLB player prop bets for Friday night. Two of them offer really nice value, and two figure to be safer bets. They still come in at solid enough prices that we can attack them, however.
I still suggest betting on these MLB props individually, but you can always roll the dice at parlay them together.
