Bovada Sportsbook provided the playoff and Super Bowl odds for this guide.
Kansas City Chiefs to Win the Super Bowl
- Win the AFC West (-10000)
- Win the AFC (+165)
- Win the Super Bowl (+375)
The two-time defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs have the best odds at all of the top Super Bowl betting sites. Kansas City is listed as the +375 favorite to win Super Bowl 59. If they win the Super Bowl, the Chiefs will become the first team in the modern era to win three consecutive championships.
Before they can attempt their three-peat, the Chiefs must make the playoffs and win the AFC. Kansas City is a near-lock to win the AFC West this season. They are three games ahead of any other team in their division, with just eight games remaining.
Patrick Mahomes and company have struggled this season, but their issues have not stopped them from starting 9-0. The Chiefs have shown time and again that they will take their game to a new level in the postseason.
They are listed at +165 to win the conference, making them the safest bet to make the Super Bowl in the AFC. If the Chiefs make it back to the Big Game, the smart money will be on them to win it all.
Detroit Lions Win the Super Bowl
- Win the NFC North (-500)
- Win the NFC (+175)
- Win the Super Bowl (+450)
The NFC favorite, Detroit, is also listed at +175 to make the Super Bowl. Detroit is a -500 favorite to win the NFC North, the most competitive conference in the NFL this season. The Lions currently have the best record in the conference at 8-1 and have won seven straight games.
Detroit almost won the NFC last season but squandered a 24-7 halftime lead in the NFC Championship game and lost to San Francisco. The 49ers have taken a step back this season, which could open the door for the Lions to reach their first Super Bowl. Their talent on both sides of the ball makes the Lions the best bet to win Super Bowl 59 in the NFC.
The Lions are listed at +450 to win the Super Bowl, second only to the Chiefs. Making it to the Big Game and winning it are two different challenges, but Detroit is good enough to do both.
Baltimore Ravens to Win Super Bowl
- Win the AFC North (-305)
- Win the AFC (+250)
- Win the Super Bowl (+600)
The biggest threat to the Chiefs in the AFC is the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore was the top seed in the AFC last year but lost at home to the Chiefs in the conference championship game. The Ravens also started this season with a loss to Kansas City in the season opener.
Baltimore plays the Steelers in Week 11 and can take over the top spot in the AFC North. Despite not being the division leader, the Ravens are -305 to win the division. Even if the Ravens win the division, they need Lamar Jackson to avoid his typical postseason struggles for Baltimore to realize its potential.
Jackson is 2-4 in the playoffs, but free-agent signee Derrick Henry could change that. Henry and Jackson have been a lethal combination this year, making the Ravens a great bet to make it to the Super Bowl. Jackson is 23-1 against the NFC in his career, giving the Ravens an edge over which team represents the NFC in Super Bowl 59.
Philadelphia Eagles to Reach the Super Bowl
- Win the NFC East (-550)
- Win the NFC (+375)
- Win the Super Bowl (+900)
Betting on teams to make the Super Bowl is also a great way to wager on the Big Game. Philadelphia’s historic falloff prevented them from repeating as NFC champions last season. The Eagles have seemingly righted the ship, starting the season with an 8-2 record, and are among the best bets to make Super Bowl 59.
It is challenging to trust Philly, even after its hot start to the season. The Eagles were 10-1 last season before losing six of their final seven games. On the other hand, the addition of Saquon Barkley has made the Eagles’ offense nearly unstoppable this season.
Philadelphia’s defense has also improved this season, allowing just a league-low 271.1 yards per game. If they continue playing this way, the Eagles will make the Super Bowl for the second time in three seasons. At the very least, they will extend the streak of no repeat winners of the NFC East to two decades.
Buffalo Bills to Reach the Super Bowl
- Win the AFC East (-25000)
- Win the AFC (+325)
- Win the Super Bowl (+700)
Buffalo’s 8-2 start has them five games ahead of any other team in the lackluster AFC East this season. They are a heavy favorite to win the division, guaranteeing Buffalo a spot in the playoffs. The Bills have the second-best record in the AFC and have a chance to knock off the undefeated Chiefs this weekend.
Like every other team in the AFC, the Chefs have been the biggest postseason hurdle for the Bills. Kansas City beat the Bills in Buffalo at home last season and has eliminated Buffalo from the postseason in three of the last four years. Buffalo’s lack of a passing attack will also make it harder to reach the Super Bowl this season.
The Bills are listed at +325 to win the AFC and make the Super Bowl, the third-best odds of any team in the division. Buffalo has the inside track to a top-two seed, given them home field for most of the AFC playoffs.
San Francisco 49ers to Reach the Super Bowl
- Win the NFC West (+110)
- Win the NFC (+500)
- Win the Super Bowl (+1000)
The San Francisco 49ers, last year’s NFC champions, are listed at +500 to repeat as conference winners this year. San Fran has been hit hard by injuries this season and struggled to a 5-4 start. If the playoffs started today, the 49ers would not be in the postseason tournament.
Despite their early season struggles, the 49ers are still the +110 favorites to win the NFC West. The good news for the 49ers is that Christian McCaffrey is finally back on the field, so San Fran has a great chance to catch the Cardinals (6-4) for the divisional title. Winning the NFC and making the Super Bowl will be a bigger challenge.
San Francisco is allowing 22.4 PPG, up from the 17.5 PPG they allowed last season. Their run defense has been particularly vulnerable, allowing 16.5 more yards per game than they did a year ago. The 49ers’ defense must play better if they want to make and win the Super Bowl this season.
An AFC Team Wins Super Bowl 59
- AFC wins Super Bowl 59 (-135)
- NFC wins Super Bowl 59 (+105)
You can also wager on which conference wins Super Bowl 59, regardless of the teams that appear. The AFC is a -135 favorite to win, and they are the bets option in this futures bet.
Kansas City and Baltimore are two of the top three favorites to win Super Bowl 59. They both play in the AFC and will have the edge over which ever team comes out of the NFC. With that in mind, I recommend sticking with the AFC for this bet.
