The regular season is winding down, and Josh Allen is starting to run away from the pack in the latest 2024 NFL MVP odds. Eagles’ running back Saquon Barkley is not going down without a fight, though, and has a chance to break the single-season rushing record this year.

This guide highlights the latest NFL MVP betting odds for the 2024-2025 season. I will tell you the current odds at the top football betting sites and break down each of the top MVP candidates this season.

Odds to Win the NFL MVP Award in 2024

BetUS Sportsbook has been the best place to bet on the NFL MVP winner all season. Here are the latest odds to win the MVP this season.

Player2024 NFL MVP Odds
Josh Allen-425
Saquon Barkley+450
Lamar Jackson+1000
Jared Goff+1400

Josh Allen’s six-touchdown game in Week 14 was not enough to power the Bills past the Rams in LA. However, it was enough to make Allen the definitive NFL MVP favorite.

Allen is not the only player fighting for the 2024 NFL MVP award. Saquon Barkley (+450), Lamar Jackson (+1000), and Jared Goff (+1400) have all made their own cases for MVP this season. You can bet on all the MVP contenders this season when you create your account at BetUS.

Why Is Josh Allen the 2024 NFL MVP Favorite?

Buffalo’s quest for the number one seed in the AFC hit a major roadblock in Week 14 when the Bills lost to the Rams.

Despite Josh Allen’s six total touchdowns, Buffalo came up short, losing 44-42 in LA. The loss likely cost the Bills any chance of catching the Chiefs, but it may have secured the MVP for Allen.

Allen has been a popular NFL MVP pick in recent years, but the weight of expectations had proven too much for the Bills’ quarterback. After an offseason full of roster turnover, fans and the media had significantly lower expectations for Allen and company this year.

Here are some of Allen’s stats through the first 14 weeks of this season.

  • 3,033 passing yards (11th)
  • 64.1% completion percentage (20th)
  • 23 passing touchdowns (6th)
  • 76.7 QBR (1st)
  • 101.9 passer rating (8th)
  • 416 rushing yards (5th among QBs)
  • 9 rushing touchdowns (2nd among QBs)

His season-long stats do not blow anyone away, but Allen has proven his value this season. He lacks a true superstar at any skill position, and many of the pieces around him have been banged up this year.

Allen is a worthy favorite, but he has not secured the MVP yet. The Bills’ quarterback needs a strong game against Detroit, Buffalo’s last opponent with a winning record, to lock up the MVP award.

Other Top 2024 NFL MVP Contenders

Josh Allen has the lead in the 2024 NFL MVP odds, but he has plenty of competition for the award. Here are three other players who have made strong cases for MVP consideration this year.

Saquon Barkley (+450)

If the MVP were not essentially a quarterback award, Saquon Barkley would likely be the betting favorite. Unfortunately for every non-quarterback, the MVP voters are biased toward the position.

Despite the inherent bias, Barkley has made a strong case for the MVP this season. A few of his impressive stats this season include:

  • 1,623 rushing yards (1st)
  • 11 rushing yards (T-5th)
  • 64 rushing first downs (3rd)
  • 14 runs of 20+ yards (2nd)
  • 124.8 rushing yards per game (1st)

The NFL single-season rushing yards record is 2,105 yards, set by Eric Dickerson in 1984. Barkley only needs 482 yards to break the record, and he will break it if he maintains his current pace of 124.8 rushing YPG.

If Barkley does break the record, it could be impossible for the voters not to give him the MVP.

Lamar Jackson (+1000)

The reigning MVP is also not giving him his crown without a fight. Lamar Jackson won his second MVP last year and is listed at +1000 odds to win the award for the third time this season.

Jackson’s dual-threat ability has helped lead the Ravens to an 8-5 record and a likely playoff berth. A few of Jackson’s notable stats this year include:

  • 3,290 passing yards (7th)
  • 8.7 yards per pass attempt (T-1st)
  • 29 passing touchdowns (2nd)
  • 3 interceptions
  • 678 rushing yards (1st among QBs)
  • 3 rushing touchdowns (10th among QBs)

Despite Jackson’s impressive season, the Ravens have failed to live up to expectations.

They were favored to win the AFC North, but Baltimore is two games behind Pittsburgh with only four games to play. The Ravens have also lost multiple games when they were favored by more than a touchdown, which, fair or not, reflects negatively on Jackson as the quarterback.

Jared Goff (+1400)

Another quarterback who has quietly made a strong case for MVP this year is Jared Goff. The Lions quarterback was not a popular NFL MVP prediction before the year, but he has led Detroit to its best start in franchise history.

At 12-1, the Lions have the inside track to the top seed in the NFC.

However, they have not yet won the NFC North, let alone locked up the number seed. The Vikings (11-2) are hot on the Lions’ tails in the division, and Philadelphia (11-2) is still alive for the top seed in the conference.

If Goff impresses against Buffalo and leads the Lions to the top seed, he has a good chance to win the MVP. However, the surplus of offensive talent around Goff calls his “value” relative to the other nominees into question.

NFL MVP Sleepers for 2024

● Jalen Hurts (+8000) – Bet Now
● Joe Burrow (+10000) – Bet Now

The final month’s worth of games is underway, and sleepers are running out of time to make their MVP cases. Two quarterbacks, Jalen Hurts (+8000) and Joe Burrow (+10000), are leading contenders for anyone shopping for a dark horse who will win the NFL MVP award this year.

Jalen Hurts (+8000)

Jalen Hurts and the Eagles are 11-2 with a chance to steal the number one seed from the Lions down the stretch this year.

Most of Philadelphia’s success this year is due to the fantastic play of Saquon Barkley. However, as the quarterback, Hurts has also received plenty of praise for his play this season.

Voting Hurts as the MVP over Barkley sounds outrageous at first, but it would not be the first time a quarterback won an award his running back deserved. Dak Prescott, for instance, won Rookie of the Year in 2016 over Ezekial Elliot, who led the NFL in rushing.

Hurts would need to improve his passing numbers, but he has an outside chance of winning MVP this year.

Joe Burrow (+10000)

Another quarterback longshot who could be a real MVP contender is Joe Burrow. After a season-ending wrist injury last year, Burrow is a leading contender to win his second Comeback Player of the Year award. He is also a sleeper for the MVP if Cincinnati can turn its season around.

The Bengals are 5-8 this year, but Burrow has put up MVP-level numbers this season, including:

  • 3,706 passing yards (1st)
  • 33 passing touchdowns (1st)
  • 74.1 QBR (2nd)
  • 107.9 passer rating (4th)
  • 335 completions (1st)

Burrow and the Bengals cannot afford another loss if they want any chance of making the playoffs. If he maintains his current pace and leads Cincinnati to a postseason appearance, Burrow could steal the MVP this season.

Tips for Betting on the NFL MVP Winner

Looking at the latest NFL MVP betting odds is the first step to submitting a winning bet for this market, but more goes into the process.

If you’re new to betting on who will win the NFL MVP, consider these helpful tips before finalizing your wagers at BetUS or other online sportsbooks.

Place Your Bets Early

The first piece of advice I have for anyone betting on who will win the NFL MVP is to get your bets in early.

It’s anyone’s guess who actually wins the award, but the value you see now is probably as good as it’ll get. As the season wears on, the favorite is increasingly more likely to get the nod.

Should another lesser known player rise up in the first few weeks, their astronomical price could evaporate in short order. If you feel really good about a bet to win the NFL MVP, act now.

Bet on Quarterbacks

The other thing is you need to bet on a quarterback to win this award. Christian McCaffrey gave NFL MVP voters every reason to buck the trend last year – his team was awesome, he broke a record, and he had 21 total touchdowns.

However, they didn’t budge, and once again chose a quarterback who maybe wasn’t even the rightful winner.

This has turned into a quarterback award, so any non-passer would need the season of a lifetime to have any kind of a chance. The safe bet is to target elite quarterbacks on good teams.

2024 NFL MVP Prediction

● Saquon Barkley (+450) – Bet Now

Josh Allen is the leading favorite for MVP, but I think Saquon Barkley will claim the award this season. Barkley is on pace to break the single-season rushing record, and he could do it against the Giants, his former team.

Saquon also has a chance to power the Eagles to the number one seed. A record-breaking season and leading his team to the top seed is why Barkley is my NFL MVP pick.

You can wager on who you think will win the NFL MVP award at BetUS Sportsbook. The 200% crypto welcome bonus is a great way to fund your account.

This sportsbook is also an excellent place to bet on Super Bowl 59 odds. Just keep in mind that historically speaking, the league MVP doesn’t typically win the big game. So, while Josh Allen or Saquon Barkely might be the most appealing NFL MVP predictions, it’s fair to wonder if their respective teams can win it all after they secure the hardware.
