Length of Jon Batiste’s National Anthem

Over 120.5 seconds-170
Under 120.5 seconds+130

One of the most straightforward bets for the Super Bowl national anthem is to wager on the length of the performance. For timing purposes, the total length is considered the time from the first spoken word until the last note, instrument or voice.

Jon Batiste’s performance is listed at over/under 120.5 seconds, with the over available as a -170 favorite. The under is listed at +130 at top Super Bowl betting sites.

Reba completed last year’s anthem in just 95 seconds. However, most of the renditions in recent years, including eight of the previous 12, have exceeded the two-minute mark. Batiste will continue that trend, taking at least 121 seconds for this anthem performance.

Will Jon Batiste Forget or Omit Any Words?

Yes+475
No-850

Sometimes, all it takes is one person to mess up to create a new betting market for future Super Bowls. Janet Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction” at Super Bowl 38 is one example. Christina Aguilera’s unique rendition of the anthem at Super Bowl 45 is another.

Aguilera fumbled some of the words in the anthem. Since then, anthem singers have been spotless in their renditions. Bovada lists Batiste at +475 to forget or omit any words during his performance.

Batiste is a -850 favorite to make it through the anthem without forgetting or omitting any words. It does not offer much value, but the favorite is the best option in this bet. Batiste has spoken openly about how much this performance means to him, so he will be prepared and not mess up on Super Bowl Sunday.

Will Jon Batiste Play the Piano?

Yes-500
No+330

Batiste is a skilled singer who plays the piano, keyboard, and guitar. He is listed at -500 to play the piano during his rendition of the national anthem for Super Bowl 59.

According to Batiste, he has been working on creating a unique arrangement that will “stand the test of time.” Given his skills with various musical instruments, it is challenging to imagine Batiste will create an arrangement that does not involve him playing some instrument.

I think Batiste will play the piano, but the -500 odds do not offer much value. Theoretically, he could satisfy his musical itch by playing the guitar, and the “no” (+330) option would hit. Batiste is best known for his piano-playing ability, though, so I recommend sticking with the favorite here.

Any Scoring Drive to Be Quicker Than the National Anthem

Yes-200
No+150

Another common bet for the Super Bowl national anthem is whether any scoring drive will be quicker than the anthem performance. Remember, Batiste’s performance is listed at over/under 120.5 seconds.

The two-minute drill is one of the most common situations in football. So, it is unsurprising that a scoring drive faster than the anthem length is a -200 favorite. Any scoring drive counts for this bet, including a quick field goal drive at the end of the half.

Punt and kick returns also count, as do safeties. A Saquon Barkley 60-yard touchdown run on the game’s first offensive play would also satisfy this bet. Barkley’s explosiveness and the Chiefs’ patented quick field goal drives mean you should hammer the yes option in this bet.

Will Any Coach or Player Cry During the National Anthem?

Yes-500
No+330

You can also wager on whether any player or coach from either team will be seen crying during Batiste’s rendition of the national anthem. The Big Game is just that, and the emotion of the moment can overwhelm some players and coaches.

Chiefs’ defensive star Chris Jones, for example, is a known crier. Eagles head coach Nick Siriani has also been shown letting a tear or two go during the anthem in the past.

The “no” option offers more value at +330, but all it takes is one person to be shown crying for the year (-500) option to win. I think Jones and Sirianni will both let the tears flow, so the “yes” option is the only way to go.

Who Will Be Shown First During the National Anthem?

One of the most popular styles of Super Bowl props for the anthem is to bet on which coach or player will be shown first. Here are four of the best head-to-head anthem bets for Super Bowl 59.

Chiefs vs. Eagles Player or Staff

Kansas City Chiefs player or staff-165
Philadelphia Eagles player or staff+125

This wager is the easiest way to bet on which side will be shown first. Instead of a specific player or coach, you simply pick the team whose player or staff is shown first.

Kansas City is a -165 favorite in this wager to have their players or coaches shown first, and Philadelphia is the +125 underdog in this bet. Sirianni, the Eagles coach, was the first person from either team shown during Chris Stapleton’s national anthem at Super Bowl 57.

Betting on the Eagles being shown first again offers better odds. The Chiefs have been the second team shown in their last three Super Bowl appearances. I believe that trend will continue this weekend, with the Eagles appearing first during the anthem.

Patrick Mahomes vs. Jalen Hurts

Patrick Mahomes-200
Jalen Hurts+150

Betting on which starting quarterback is shown first is another popular way to wager on the Super Bowl national anthem. This year, three-time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes is the -200 favorite to appear on camera before Jalen Hurts.

When these teams met in Super Bowl 57, Hurts appeared before Mahomes and was the third person shown overall. Last year, Mahomes was the first quarterback shown on camera and appeared first in two of his first four Big Games.

Hurts has better payout odds, but Mahomes is the one on the verge of history. Considering that, I think Mahomes will be the one shown first on camera during the anthem.

Travis Kelce vs. Saquon Barkley

Travis Kelce-180
Saquon Barkley+135

Quarterbacks are not the only stars you can wager on in these head-to-head anthem bets. For instance, Travis Kelce is the -180 favorite to appear during Batiste’s national anthem before Saquon Barkley (+135).

In theory, multiple of these wagers can cash at the same time. Kelce and Mahomes appeared at the same in Super Bowl 55, showing up before Tom Brady but after Rob Gronkowski and Mike Evans. If that happens again, Kelce is a good bet at -180 to be shown first.

However, Barkley’s value at +135 is the more enticing bet. These wagers are little more than a coin flip in most pairings, so getting plus-money odds is the way to go.

Andy Reid vs. Nick Sirianni

Andy Reid-150
Nick Sirianni+115

Betting on the first head coach shown during the anthem is also a popular Super Bowl market. Andy Reid is the -150 favorite to appear on the screen before Sirianni. However, Sirianni appeared first in Super Bowl 57, and 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan was shown first last year.

Reid was the first coach shown in Super Bowl 54, and I think he will get first looks again. It has been too long since he was the first coach to appear. Also, at -150, he has the best odds of any favorite in this style of bet at Bovada.

Who Will Be Shown Last During the National Anthem?

Kansas City Chiefs player or staff-115
Philadelphia Eagles player or staff-115

In addition to wager on who appears first, you can bet on which team will be shown last during the anthem. Unlike other similar markets, there is no clear favorite in this bet. Players and staff members from Kansa City and Philadelphia are tied at -115 in this market.

This wager is especially challenging to predict because the length of the anthem plays such a significant role in the number of shots of each sideline. Armed service members around the globe, fans at the game, and Batiste himself will also take up some camera time.

I picked Philly to appear first during the anthem, and I am also choosing the Eagles to appear last. It is unusual for one team to do both, but betting on Philly in both markets all-but ensures you will win one of your bets. It also maximizes your potential payout.

Betting on the Super Bowl National Anthem

As you can see, there are plenty of exciting ways to bet on Jon Batiste’s upcoming national anthem performance at Super Bowl 59.

Bovada is the best option for wagering on these unique markets, including my top bet: a scoring drive faster than the official national anthem time (-200). New members who use the code BV1000 can get up to $1,000 in extra funds for betting on Super Bowl national anthem props.
