UFC 304 Main Event Preview: Edwards vs. Muhammad 2
UFC 304 odds at all top-rated MMA betting sites favor Leon Edwards, but my UFC prediction is that a surprise might happen.
Leon Edwards is a hell of a striker with great stamina who also has decent grappling skills, which he tends to use for defensive purposes. He’s a well-rounded fighter, but he’s nowhere near as good a wrestler as Belal Muhammad.
The last time Belal fought a prolific kickboxer was in 2021 when he beat Stephen Thompson by unanimous decision. In that fight, he landed seven takedowns, preventing Wonderboy from making too many significant strikers. In fact, he had only 19 significant strikes – his lowest number in a 3-round fight.
What needs to worry Belal is that his next opponent has a great history in fighting expert wrestlers. In his last fight, he defeated NCAA Division I All-American wrestler Colby Covington. Before that, he beat Kamaru Usman twice.
The first of those wins, however, happened in the final minute of the 5-round bout, which Edwards was losing. Before 4:04 in the 5th round, Edwards had suffered five takedown and got beaten up by Usman, but then, he landed a spectacular head kick that put his opponent to sleep.
So, if you think his credentials make him likely to win the UFC main event, I don’t blame you. But keep in mind that Balal has only suffered one KO loss in his 11+ years-long career. It happened back in 2016, and since then, he’s undefeated.
Best Bets for UFC 304
- Belal Muhammad to Beat Leon Edwards (+200)
- Tom Aspinall to Beat Curtis Blaydes (-350)
- Muhammad Mokaev to Beat Manel Kape (-125)
My UFC 304 pick for the main event is Belal Muhammad and if you’re going to listen to my advice, back this guy at BetOnline. It’s because of the UFC Split Decision Refund promo, through which you’ll get your cash back if Belal loses by decision. And I think it’s very likely the outcome of this fight will be decided by decision.
Belal and Leon have 29 fights between them that were decided by the judges. One that didn’t was their first fight which ended in no contest after an accidental eye poke.
I also think Tom Aspinall will beat Curtis Blaydes. He’s the best heavyweight in the world right now in my opinion. The Manchester-born fighter is 14-3 overall with just one loss in the UFC. And the loss in question isn’t really a loss – he lost to Blaydes by a TKO after injuring his knee in the 15th second of the fight.
Aspinall isn’t the only fighter from Manchester. Although born in Dagestan, Muhammad Mokaev has been living in Manchester since the age of 12. That’s actually why his next opponent Manel Kape called him “fake Dagestani” on Twitter (X).
It didn’t stay online though. Kape headbutted Mokeav at the UFC Performance Institute in Vegas earlier this month. But that’s one more reason for Mokaev to go all-in on July 27. Another reason is that if he beats Kape, he’ll become the UFC flyweight fighter with the longest active winning streak apart from the champion (Alexandre Pantoja).

Belal Muhammad to Beat Leon Edwards | Tom Aspinall to Beat Curtis Blaydes |
Bobby Green to Beat Paddy Pimblett | Muhammad Mokaev to Beat Manel Kape |
Arnold Allen to Beat Giga Chikadze | Nathaniel Wood to Beat Daniel Pineda |
Molly McCann to Beat Bruna Brasil | Caolan Loughran to Beat Ramon Taveras |
Mick Parkin to Beat Lukasz Brzeski | Preston Parsons to Beat Oban Elliott |
Sam Patterson to Beat Kiefer Crosbie | Christian Leroy Duncan to Beat Gregory Rodrigues |
Modestas Bukauskas to Beat Marcin Prachnio | Shauna Bannon to Beat Alice Ardelean |
As you can see from my UFC 304 predictions, I think eight of the 11 English fighters will win their fights on July 27. They will have their crowd to support them from the stands of Co-op Live in Manchester, but there’s one Englishman who could get booed by the fans.
It’s Paddy Pimblett, a somewhat controversial fighter from Liverpool who recently filmed himself supporting Spain against England in the Euro 2024 Final.
But even if fans weren’t against him, I’d still back Bobby Green. After all, he’s much tougher than any opponent Paddy the Baddy has faced so far.
I also predict that Irish fighter Shauna Bannon will beat England-based Alice Ardelean, even though UFC 304 odds suggest otherwise. Ardelean is an OnlyFans star who’s making her UFC debut on July 27 after agreeing to step in on short notice to ensure the fight goes through.
Although she’s got all wins since 2016, the fact is that she’s fought in lower-ranked promotions only. Meanwhile, “Mama B” Bannon is a former Invicta fighter.
Betting on UFC 304
UFC 304 odds are awesome for practically every bet available. My favorite bet is Belal Muhammad at +200, especially if you place it at BetOnline where you’ll get your stake back if he loses by a split decision.
I also recommend backing Muhammad Mokaev, Bobby Green, and Shauna Bannon, who all come with really good UFC 304 odds. My safest bet for the July 27 event, however, is Tom Aspinall, who’s priced at -350 at BetOnline.
Feel free to also back Molly McCann, Nathaniel Wood, and other big favorites with UFC 304 odds of -300 or longer.
Want more fights to bet on? There’s a huge bout between Jake Paul and Mike Perry coming up. See who is favored and who I like to win.
