UFC 307 odds & picks text centered, Alex Pereira, Jose Aldo, and Kayla Harrison featured, UFC Octagon in background

My UFC 307 prediction is that the event in Salt Lake City is going to be a real spectacle. I’m basing my opinion on the fact that the latest UFC 307 odds are very close for most fights. That could mean that there’s a lot of money to be made for this huge event.

Well, that’s where I step in with my UFC 307 picks. I’m not bragging, but seven of my nine UFC 306 picks won, including all the main card ones. Hopefully, it’s gonna be even better on October 5.

Let’s get this UFC 307 betting preview rolling with a look at the current odds for this card.

BetOnline is one of the MMA sportsbooks with the most lucrative UFC 307 odds. Plus, this sportsbook has some really cool promos, including the UFC Split Decision Championship Refund.

How it works is that you will get up to $50 back if your fighter loses by a split decision in a title fight. What’s great is that on October 5 in Salt Lake City, there will be two such fights – Pereira vs. Rountree and Pennington vs. Pena.

Apart from the two championship bouts, the UFC 307 fight card brings us many other great matchups, most of which come with great odds. Kayla Harrison is the biggest favorite with -650 odds, while most other faves are given much more attractive prices by BetOnline.

There are several reasons to make BetOnline your go-to sportsbook for MMA betting, but it’s arguably the best option for UFC 307.

BetOnline Best Site for Betting on UFC 307

BetOnline is a fantastic choice for betting on the UFC in general, as they push out fight odds as fast as anyone. Their pricing is also competitive, while new players can get started with up to $250 in free bets with no strings attached.

They also have awesome promos, whether it be the $150,000 second chance NFL Survivor contest, their daily cash race, or their many sports betting contests. They even ran a $10,000 UFC 304 props challenge and often run sport-specific promos that engage users.

Don’t take my word for it, though. Get access to that $250 in free bets and bet on UFC 307 now.

UFC 307 Main Event Preview

Alex Pereira vs. Khalil Rountree Jr. is the main event of UFC 307. This is a fight for the UFC Light Heavyweight title, which has been in Poatan’s possession for nearly 11 months. Pereira got ahold of the championship belt by beating Jiri Prochazka by TKO in November 2023.

This year, he made two title defenses. First, he KO-ed Jamahal Hill; then, he beat Prochazka once again by a TKO, showing the world that his striking is unparalleled. His knockout-to-win ratio is 81.81% overall, which is no surprise given that he lands 5.23 significant strikes a minute.

This should worry his opponent a lot as Khalil Rountree Jr. gets hit very often. In fact, he lands 3.84 significant strikes per 60 seconds, while getting hit 4.18 times. All the numbers suggest that the Brazilian superstar is going to have an easy job on October 5, which explains why UFC 307 odds are heavily in his favor.

Pereira’s odds are -550 at most sites, meaning that if Rountree somehow beat him, it would be one of the biggest upsets in the history of the UFC.

If you think that The War Horse can pull it off, my recommendation is to back him at BetOnline where he’s priced at +400. No other sportsbook is giving such great odds on this guy.

What do I think, can this happen? I do, because Rountree is a phenomenal striker, probably better than any 205lb opponent Poatan has faced so far. Plus, this is the biggest fight of his career, so you can bet that he’ll go all-in on October 5.

Top UFC 307 Upset Picks

  • Khalil Rountree Jr. to Beat Alex Pereira (+400) – Bet Now
  • Jose Aldo to Beat Mario Bautista (+150) – Bet Now
  • Stephen Thomspon to Beat Joaquin Buckley (+160) – Bet Now

When you beat three elite opponents by KO/TKO in title fights, your confidence just has to skyrocket. In the case of Alex Pereira, it might be over the top.

After all, the guy’s fighting for the third time in 2024. That said, it could be that Khalil Rountree Jr. is taking the UFC 307 fight way more seriously, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he got himself a win.

My second UFC 307 upset pick is Jose Aldo. The 38-year-old legend made his comeback to MMA earlier this year, almost two years after losing to Merab Dvalishvili by decision.

His return saw him beat favored Jonathan Martinez. Now, he’s supposed to fight against another favorite, Mario Bautista. If he beats him on October 5, Aldo will make a giant leap toward challenging the title.

Jose Aldo isn’t the only veteran I expect to see win at UFC 307. Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, who’s turning 42 in a few months’ time, is fighting Joaquin Buckley who’s 11 years his junior, and who’s won his last four fights.

The reason why I think Thompson will win is that he’s one of the best kickboxers in the UFC and this fight is likely to be a striking duel.

Best Bets for UFC 307

  • Raquel Pennington to Beat Julianna Pena (-180) – Bet Now
  • Tecia Pennington to Beat Carla Esparza (-175) – Bet Now
  • Kayla Harrison to Beat Ketlen Vieira (-650) – Bet Now

My prediction is that the Pennington family is going to have a good day at UFC 307. Both Raquel and her wife Tecia should win their fights on October 5. Raquel, who’s the defending UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion, is fighting the former champ Julianna Pena, who hasn’t fought since 2022.

An hour or so before that fight, Tecia Pennington (nee Torres) will fight a UFC 307 preliminary fight against Carla Esparza. Same as Raquel’s opponent, Tecia’s rival too hasn’t fought in two years. With so much ring rust, I doubt she can do much in Utah.

The last on my list of top UFC 307 picks is Kayla Harrison. The Olympic gold medalist in judo is 17-1 in MMA, with a submission win over legendary Holly Holm on her UFC debut. If she managed to beat The Preacher’s Daughter, she should have no problems doing the same to Ketlen Vieira.

Full UFC 307 Predictions

  • Khalil Rountree Jr. to Beat Alex Pereira
  • Raquel Pennington to Beat Julianna Pena
  • Jose Aldo to Beat Mario Bautista
  • Kayla Harrison to Beat Ketlen Vieira
  • Kevin Holland to Beat Roman Dolidze
  • Stephen Thompson to Beat Joaquin Buckley
  • Iasmin Lucindo to Beat Marina Rodriguez
  • Cesar Almeida to Beat Ihor Potieria
  • Tecia Pennington to Beat Carla Esparza
  • Ryan Spann to Beat Ovince Saint Preux
  • Tim Means to Beat Court McGee

I predict that most fighters with minus-money UFC 307 odds will win. The only two underdogs with a good chance of winning are Jose Aldo and Stephen Thompson.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if Khalil Rountree Jr. pulled off an upset. Sure, it’s unlikely, but history teaches us that surprises do happen in such big fights. That’s why I recommend going with a relatively small bet for this fight. Putting just $10 on Rountree could bring another $40 your way.

If you want to play it safe, Kayla Harrison is probably your best bet. Even though her UFC 307 odds are super-short, she’s extremely likely to win.

Betting on UFC 307

Now that you’ve read my UFC 307 preview, you know which fighters to back. I’ve shared with you my betting predictions for all fights with UFC 307 odds at the moment, but if I had to pick out the best one, I’d go with Raquel Pennington.

She’s a real warrior with plenty of weapons in her arsenal, which is why I think she’ll retain her title. Her favorite method of victory is decision, which is why I recommend backing her at BetOnline.

As this is a title fight, this sportsbook will give you back your money if she ends up losing by a split decision. I think that won’t happen, but it’s always nice to have insurance.

In addition to that promo, BetOnline has plenty of other interesting bonus offers, so if you don’t already have an account with this site, now is the time to make it.
