Bovada was quick to release the UFC Fight Night: Vettori vs. Cannonier odds for all bouts that have been announced si far. Not only were they quick, but Bovada is also giving pretty lucrative prices on these fights.

For instance, this sportsbook is giving -150 on “The Italian Dream” in the main event of UFC on ESPN 47, while his opponent is priced at +125.

Many of the top UFC betting sites aren’t giving as good Vettori vs. Cannonier betting odds, although some exceptions exist (e.g., Betway and 10Bet are giving -145 on Vettori).

It’s a similar case when it comes to the co-main event, in which Arman Tsarukyan is priced at -750.

Sure, that’s way short from a bettor’s perspective, but I can tell you that most other sportsbooks offer -900 on that bet.

If you decide to bet at Bovada, they certainly offer a generous welcome bonus for signing up, and you can read our in-depth Bovada review for more information or head to the site to place your picks.

Top Prelims Picks for UFC Fight Night

  • Modestas Baukauskas to Beat Zac Pauga
  • Dan Argueta to Beat Ronnie Lawrence
  • Alessandro Costa to Beat Jimmy Flick

If there’s something I’ve learned betting on the UFC all these years, it’s that favorites almost always win in preliminary fights.

In the previous UFC on ESPN event, fighters with minus-money odds won in four of the seven prelims.

We did, however, see one -500 favorite lose (Jamie Mullarkey), but it happened after he got a new opponent on very short notice.

So, if the UFC makes some major changes with the prelims matchups for the June 18 event, I advise staying away from those fights.

Luckily, you’ve got plenty of betting options before you, even if some bouts end up changed/canceled.

Marvin Vettori vs. Jared Cannonier Fight Prediction

Marvin Vettori and Jared Cannonier are two aggressive fighters who are very fun to watch, but their similarities don’t end there.

Both dabbled in the light heavyweight division in the past, have incredible stamina, and have suffered losses to only two fighters – Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker.

Tale of the Tape
Marvin Vettori Fighter Stats Jared Cannonier
29 Age 39
6’0 Height 5’11
74’ Reach 77.5’
19-6-1 Overall Record (W-L-D) 16-6-0
9-4-1 UFC Record 9-6-0
3-2-0 Last Five Fights 3-2-0
Win over Roman Dolidze (unanimous decision) Last Fight Win over Sean Strickland (split decision)

Vettori is a true marathon man – since joining the UFC in 2016, 13 of his 15 fights have gone the distance, including four five-found bouts. Seven of Cannonier’s 15 UFC fights went the distance. Four of those were in his last five fights. And three of those fights were five-rounders.

Knowing all this, it looks certain that Vettori vs. Cannonier will be a long fight. However, “The Killa Gorilla” has pledged to finish “The Italian Dream” in the UFC on ESPN 47 main event.

In a recent interview, he revealed he’s planning to knock Vettori out, which would open the door for a rematch with Adesanya later in the year.

I believe he’s going to try, but I’m not sure if he’s actually going to pull it off. After all, Vettori has never lost a fight inside the distance.

Plus, this guy’s already defeated fighters with a similar fighting style to his next opponent – Paulo Costa, Kevin Holland, Roman Dolidze, etc.

Knowing all this, you shouldn’t be surprised that “The Italian Dream” is my Vettori vs. Cannonier fight pick. Plus, Vettori vs. Cannonier betting odds on this bet look decent.

If you want to bet on the UFC Fight Night: Vettori vs. Cannonier odds, then head to 10bet.

Best Bets for UFC on ESPN 47

I can’t say I’m 100% certain Vettori will win. He definitely is the better fighter, but I’m worried that Cannonier might fulfill his promise and knock his opponent out.

That’s why I probably won’t put too much money on Vetorri winning. However, I plan to go big on another bet – over 3.5 rounds.

I suggest waiting for UFC on ESPN: Vettori vs. Cannonier odds for round betting to be published. It should happen within the next few days.

In the meantime, I have a couple of UFC betting tips for you.

I say put your money on Manuel Torres, Pat Sabbatini, and Raoni Barcelos.

Those are my top picks for the June 18 event. Sure, their UFC Fight Night: Vettori vs. Cannonier odds could’ve been better, but there’s a way to deal with that.

You can make a parlay with these three bets at Xbet, in which case the cumulative odds will be somewhere in the ballpark of +251.

UFC Fight Night: Vettori vs. Cannonier Predictions

  • Marvin Vettori to Beat Jared Cannonier
  • Arman Tsarukyan to Beat Joaquim Silva
  • Armen Petrosyan to Beat Christian Leroy Duncan
  • Pat Sabatini to Beat Lucas Almeida
  • Manuel Torres to Beat Nikolas Motta
  • Raoni Barcelos to Beat Miles Johns
  • Muslim Salikhov to Beat Nicolas Dalby
  • Alessandro Costa to Beat Jimmy Flick
  • Cristian Quinonez to Beat Kang Kyung-ho
  • Carlos Hernandez to Beat Denys Bondar
  • Zhalgas Zhumagulov to Beat Felipe Bunes
  • Tereza Bleda to Beat Gabriella Fernandes
  • Ronnie Lawrence to Beat Dan Argueta
  • Modestas Bukauskas to Beat Zac Pauga

If your MMA betting strategy is to back favorites, then this is a great event for you! Manuel Torres, Pat Sabbatini, Raoni Barcelos, and even Marvin Vettori are very likely to win on Saturday, June 18.

Still, there are some red flags as well on the UFC on ESPN 47 fight card.

Arman Tsarukyan opened as a -900 favorite against Joaquim Silva, who’s actually a pretty decent fighter with great striking and decent BJJ skills.

Sure, if you’ve ever watched a video of Tsarukyan fighting, you understand why he’s favored to win on June 17, but I’d never risk $900 for $100 profit.

Another favorite I’d stay away from is Muslim Salikhov.

He’s a great fighter with vast experience, but so is his next opponent, Nicolas Dalby. Then, there’s Christian Leroy Duncan, the only UFC on ESPN 47 favorite whom I’m willing to bet against.

The Cage Warriors alumnus is 8-0 in his professional career with a 1-0 record in the UFC, which came after his opponent got injured. This guy’s fighting Armen Petrosyan, who’s one of the best strikers in the middleweight division.

If you’re a fan of boxing, you’ll be happy to know that betting sites have released early odds for Nate Diaz vs. Jake Paul, which is set for set for August 5th. Take a look for yourself with the blog below.
