So I travel overseas to my hometown of Haiti, I decide to log in to my Bovada account but it said that Bovada isn’t available in Haiti but if I’m a traveling member I can sign in and use the website… So i did exactly that, I signed in and was able to deposit money and place a bet. I won the bet and I go to withdraw my money, it said that then withdrawal is pending (which never happens to me). I wake up the next day and I get an email from Bovada Investigation saying that they are investigating my account for fraudulent activity because my IP address didn’t match my address. I explain to them that I am traveling so obviously it won’t match… 1 week later I get an email from them saying how that they concluded that my account has fraudulent activity and they disabled. My account.. So basically they seized $300 from me because of something that THEY allowed me to do. STAY AWAY TRUST ME

My Experience at Bovada

Bovada is easily one of the top gambling sites available in the US. It has a robust sports betting experience, nearly 500 casino games—including live dealer lobbies—and an energetic online poker room. Add to that the available welcome bonuses and crypto banking methods, and you end up with a nearly perfect online gambling suite to try your luck.

I highly recommend Bovada for just about every gambling preference.

Bonuses Review

Bovada has lucrative bonuses and promotions available to new and existing customers. There are separate bonus offers for sports, casino, and poker players, allowing you to choose the offer that works best for how you bet. You can only choose one welcome offer, though, so it’s important to review all your options before you sign up and make a deposit.

Another thing you should consider is the deposit and payout method you want to use. Bovada encourages users to choose cryptocurrency by offering additional rewards for sports and casino players who make their first deposit using crypto. These crypto bonuses have higher match percentages with higher maximum bonus funds. But it’s worth noting that these crypto bonuses have higher rollovers to balance the bigger rewards.

If you choose to claim the casino welcome bonus, you will only be able to use the bonus funds on casino games. The sports welcome offer is a little different and allows you to use the bonus funds on casino games, but with a higher rollover requirement. This sports bonus offers a 75% deposit match up to $750 on crypto deposits, with a 5x rollover on sports and racebook wagers, and 30x rollover in the casino.

I recommend choosing the casino bonus if you plan to play casino games primarily, but if you want to try both sports betting and casino games at Bovada, go with the sports bonus.

I’ll also point out that the poker bonus works entirely different from the other welcome bonuses at Bovada. You don’t get your bonus funds all at once; instead, players earn a $5 bonus every time they earn 150 Bovada Rewards Points. Poker players earn points through games played:

• 15 points for every $1 spent in cash games’ rake and tournaments’ fees
• 1.5 points for every buy-in dollar spent on Jackpot Sit-n-Go games.

This process is similar to the bonuses on other poker sites, but it can be confusing if you are new to online poker. If you are set on claiming the poker bonus, read the terms and conditions carefully and contact customer support if you have questions.

Bovada Rewards

The Bovada Rewards Program is a great way for returning players to earn extra bonuses. Players earn 1–60 points from select casino games, sports betting, horse betting, and playing poker. There are six tiers of rewards, with multiple levels in each.  As you move up the tiers, rewards points are redeemable for cash bonuses; ranging from $1 per 2,500 points at the Rookie Level to $1 per 1,000 points at the Hall of Fame tier—the program’s highest.

Deposits and Payouts at Bovada

Bovada supports payment methods that make it easy for most customers to make deposits. But the site only has a few options for withdrawing—an inconvenient standard at most online gambling sites.

The most convenient withdrawal method is cryptocurrency, Bitcoin in particular. When I requested a check withdrawal, Bovada contacted me to let me know that my bank might not even be willing to cash the check, depending on its gambling policies. So I opted to accept the crypto payout rather than risking getting a check I potentially couldn’t cash.

While I would love to see Bovada offer a few more withdrawal methods, my guess is that they generally limit their options to avoid customer headaches. Bitcoin is typically the most convenient option for US gamblers, so it makes sense that they limit payouts accordingly on some level.

The aspect of Bovada’s banking methods I was most disappointed by are the transaction fees for credit card deposits. The site charges a steep minimum of 15.9% for credit card deposits; not to mention, your credit card company may charge additional fees on top. Bovada does cover the in-house fee for your first deposit, but you might want to switch to a different banking method after that.

I would also like to see a wider variety of cryptocurrency banking methods. Bovada has the basics covered, but they could expand their options to include better known altcoins like XRP, USD Coin, and Stellar. 

One detractor in my book is the lack of a centralized financial information page that explains all of this. Plenty of gambling sites have their deposit and withdrawal information on a single, easy-to-read page, including available methods, limits, processing times, fees, and more. Bovada is not one of them.

The best way to learn about Bovada’s banking methods is to click the two-lines in the top-right corner to bring up the sub-menu. From there, you click “Help,” followed by “Financial.” The most streamlined deposit information is under the “What are the deposit limits?” article, as it has a simple table that lists each available method’s minimum and maximum deposit amounts. 

Likewise, if you go back to the main FAQ page and scroll down to the “What are the withdrawal limits?” article, you can learn about available payout methods, limits, and timeframes. 

While you can eventually dig through the financial FAQ section to find out about your preferred banking methods, there’s simply no reason the Bovada financial information should be as convoluted as it is.

Bovada Sportsbook Review

Bovada is best known for its sportsbook, and rightfully so. It has a comprehensive offering of sports to bet on, including football, basketball, hockey, soccer, UFC/MMA, tennis, and motorsports. Jump to more details for:

You can visit the Bovada sportsbook and click on “All Sports (A-Z)” to see every market the site takes wagers for. The page’s left half displays current and trending events, and you can also search games by competitor.

No matter what sport you choose to bet on, betting at Bovada is enhanced by the site’s wagering features. There is exciting live in-game betting, a parlay booster, and a custom prop builder that can cover multiple props, games, and even different leagues and sports.

The prop bet builder is one of the best options for anyone who likes betting on games details, and the on-page statistics can help you determine which wagers offer the most value. 

Online Betting

I appreciated Bovada’s sportsbook for its ease of use and organization, on both desktop and mobile. All the mainstream sports are listed at the top of the page, and you can see featured events on the left side of the screen. Bovada offers odds on a large variety of American and international sports. For example, there are odds for many basketball leagues and events. This includes the NBA, WNBA, college basketball, FIBA, European and Asian leagues, and CEBL (Canada). Most of Bovada’s customers will probably focus on American leagues, but it is good to know that it has international coverage as well.

Click the “All Sports” button to see what other wagers you can find.

Sports like boxing, curling, and handball aren’t necessarily the most popular to most American bettors, but they still provide some exciting betting opportunities. You can also bet on events like entertainment and politics. Don’t miss those options just because they aren’t listed on the main sportsbook page.

Bovada’s betting limits range from $0.50 minimum in the sportsbook to $1 in the racebook (only superfectas start at $0.10 per bet).

The maximum betting limits at Bovada vary between $100–$5,000. It depends on the sport, the type of bet, and whether it’s a regular game or a special event.

It’s also important to know that Bovada has dual lines for winning bettors. That means Bovada may impose stricter betting limits or change the odds on some wagers in you have a more winning betting record. They do this to discourage professional bettors, so it shouldn’t be an issue for most casual/ recreational players.

Esports and Virtual Sports

You’ll find esports betting options listed under a single category at Bovada, which is accessible through the All Sports menu. The exact betting options will depend on which video game competition you want to bet on. Included among the site’s esports markets are Counter-Strike 2, League of Legends, and Valorant. 

Virtual sports betting is listed as a separate category under the All Sports menu. These operate like traditional RNG casino games (rather than actual live events), though they feature fairly realistic graphics that almost make it seem like you’re watching the real thing. 

Racebook

Horse racing fans also have plenty of betting options at Bovada. The racebook accepts wagers from 26 tracks around the world, including Santa Rosa, Hastings Park, and Yonkers Raceway. There’s even a convenient “Next 5 Races” button on the racebook’s menu so you can quickly find the next available bets. 

There are win, place, and show bets available, as well as both props and futures. Some online sportsbooks are reducing their horse betting offerings, but Bovada is still the place to be if betting on horse races is to your taste.

Bovada Casino Game Selection

Full disclosure: I absolutely love the online casino at Bovada. 

It has a large variety of games between its Bovada-exclusive titles and partnerships with consistently great software providers like Rival Gaming, BetSoft, and Spinomenal, to name a few. When you enter the casino lobby, the first thing you’ll see are the hottest casino games, Hot Drops Jackpots, and the aforementioned Bovada exclusive games. Jump for more details:

The volume of 500+ quality casino games is impressive, but that’s not all I like about the casino. I also appreciate how Bovada regularly improves its selection by adding new and exclusive game options, like the Hot Drop jackpots. The overall quality of the games is great too. All the games I played during my Bovada casino review had excellent graphics and loaded quickly. Here are a few of my favorites:

You can try most of Bovada’s (non-live dealer) games for free, but the process to do so is a little odd. Make sure you are logged out of your account, and click on the game you want to try.  A pop-up window will appear prompting you to log in,m but do not log in, and close the pop-up window. When you do so, you will be taken to a page in which you can play as much as you’d like with free practice money. 

While the process is a bit strange, I highly recommend trying out a wide array of casino games at Bovada. Like I said earlier, the selection is simply fantastic. 

Slots

What I like most about the slots at Bovada is the variety of more than 400 individual games. There are many types of slots to choose from, including 3- and 5-reel slots, classic slots, progressive slots, hot drop jackpots, and slots with features like bonus rounds and free spins.

One of Bovada’s slot games that I really enjoyed is Pirates Pick, which has a 96% return-to-player percentage (RTP%). The game’s instructions are clearly laid out on the left side of the screen, which is nice. The HD graphics are clear and smooth, featuring pleasant nautical themed artwork that displays an enticing amount of potential bonus tiles that made me want to keep spinning. 

Another game I really enjoyed playing is a progressive called Mystic Elements, which you can find in the jackpot category. The RTP% for Mystic Elements is 96%. The visual effects make you feel like you’re at Stonehenge, but with an added ambiance almost like the northern lights. I particularly enjoyed the mystery symbols feature for extra anticipation—each mystery symbol converts into a different symbol once the tumblers come to a stop.

My biggest complaint about the Bovada slot library is that there aren’t any licensed or branded slots (games based on movies, video games, comic books, and celebrities). But that’s not really something I can blame Bovada for, as it’s more of a copyright issue. Most US online casinos don’t have licensed slots because gambling and copyright laws vary at the state, national, and international levels.

One thing that separates Bovada from many other casinos is that they have several of their own games exclusive to the Bovada brand. So, you can play slots from Rival Gaming, but you can also play some games that are only available on Bovada. Texas Gold Rush and Lucky Lady are two of the 36 available proprietary titles on the site.

Hot Drop Jackpots

In June 2022 Bovada launched a new type of slot game called Hot Drop Jackpots.

There were 16 Hot Drop Jackpots running when I reviewed Bovada, all of which contribute to three central jackpots. At the time of writing, the jackpots were:

• Hourly Jackpot — $512.66
• Daily Jackpot — $13,912
• Epic Jackpot — $227,649

Hourly and daily jackpots drop before the end of each hour and each day, respectively. The epic jackpot is randomized, and will continue to grow until someone hits it.

Hot Drop Jackpots are different from other progressive jackpot games because you have an idea of when they are about to “drop.” As the end of an hour or day approaches, you can be sure a jackpot will drop soon on one of these games. This allows you to time your play around the jackpot drops for a chance to win.

Bovada regularly expands the Hot Drop game options by adding the jackpot software to new and existing games in its collection. I played A Night with Cleo and Reels of Fortune during my Bovada review. Reels of Fortune has a fun roaring ’20s-inspired theme and a multiplier bonus option, while Night with Cleo has an ancient Egypt theme with 20 paylines, free spins, and wild symbols.

Table Games

Bovada’s table game collection includes seven roulette wheels, (American, European, and Dragon), two blackjack tables, two baccarat games, craps, and poker (oasis, tri-card). In addition to these classics, they have specialty variations on many of the games, bringing the total amount of table games to 43. I tested out table games, including Caribbean hold ’em and craps. Both games loaded quickly with no issues, and were easy to play.

I like that the Bovada table games section has a dropdown menu at the top to filter games by type, such as blackjack, craps, dice games, and card games.

It’s also important to note Bovada has a separate category for its 15 blackjack tables. This isn’t surprising, considering that blackjack is far-and-away the most popular table game at online casinos. 

If online blackjack is your game, Bovada is definitely worth checking out. I enjoyed playing classic blackjack, in particular. The first-person view brings you to a blue table and makes you feel like you are sitting at a table in person. The game has a wide betting range as well ($1–$5,000), suitable to any bankroll.

Video Poker

There are six video poker games available on Bovada. My personal favorite variation was Jacks or Better 10 Hands—I’m a big fan of multi-hand poker. The game deals you a hand, and every card you hold is also held on nine additional hands. This brings tremendous entertainment value to the game, as each hand seems to have an unlimited number of possibilities. 

Specialty Games

Bovada’s specialty games category offers 61 titles, many of which are bingo and scratch-card games. It also has 10 crash games, five Plinko games (another favorite of mine), and a selection of unique arcade games like the Bovada-exclusive Fishing Day. 

Specialty games are not usually a large determining factor for comparing online casinos, as I’m often more concerned about the slots and table games. That said, sometimes it’s fun to just turn your brain off for a few minutes and settle into one of the casino’s many easy-to-play specialty games.

Live Dealer

Another way to enjoy the online casino at Bovada is to check out their live dealer casino. The live casino is divided into two lobbies for each provider: Dynamite Interactive and Gold Tier Games. You can play blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and super six with a real dealer.

If you’re a low-stakes blackjack player, you can find betting limits as low as $5֪–$100. High-stakes players can join the high-limit tables and bet up to $50,000 per hand. Bovada’s live dealer European and American roulette tables range from $1–$3,000 per spin, while you can play baccarat and super six for $5–$2,500 per hand, respectively.

Bovada Poker Review 

Bovada easily has one of the top online poker rooms available online in the US. It offers three variations: Texas hold ’em, Omaha and Omaha hi/lo. You can’t play for free to practice, though the lowest buy-in is $0.02 so you can practice in a live-poker setting while spending very little money. The stakes range from $1–$200, and I appreciate the range of options so you can choose the stakes you are most comfortable with.

There are dedicated desktop applications to play Bovada poker for Windows and Mac systems. While there aren’t native Bovada poker mobile apps available, playing poker from your mobile browser works seamlessly both in portrait and landscape modes.

The Bovada Sit-and-Go tournaments give you the most flexibility as a player because you can choose which variation you want to play, how many players you want to compete with (2–45), and the buy-in levels. 

You can play quick seat poker, which puts you at the next available table so you can jump right into the action. There is also zone poker (or fast fold poker), a quick-paced variant in which players are automatically moved to a different table once their hand is completed. Playing zone poker, you never have to wait for other players at the table to finish their hands. Zone poker maxes out at $1/$2 blinds too, so you can squeeze in a lot of flops without breaking the bank.

All the poker tables on Bovada are anonymous, which means head-up display (HUD) software won’t work, preventing other players from using it to track and predict your actions. If you typically use HUD software, this feature will be an inconvenience; Bovada’s poker room is focused on creating the best environment for recreational players.

Bovada offers a whopping $2,000,000 in weekly poker prizes, including $200,000 in guaranteed prizes for the site’s weekly Sunday tournament. To qualify for this, players need to participate in satellite tournaments throughout the week. (Buy-ins for qualifier tournaments start at only $1.)

The bottom line on Bovada poker: a lot to offer and is well worth a visit for just about any poker enthusiast.

Bovada ranks among many other online gambling sites that make it overly difficult to actually get in touch with customer service.
