My Experience at Drake Casino

I spent two hours gambling at Drake Casino and had a very positive experience doing so—despite the fact that I did not come out at ahead. The casino’s slots were particularly entertaining, especially Jane’s Farm and Buffalo Bullion. Furthermore, I enjoyed that the site had a nice variety of three-, four-, and five-reel slots, as well as a robust selection of jackpot slots such as Big Salmon Run and Western Call. While Drake doesn’t have a dedicated mobile application, the majority of the casino’s games are optimized for mobile use and performed smoothly.

One negative aspect about the welcome bonus is that it comes with a 50x playthrough requirement (bonus + deposit), which is much higher than most other casinos; 30x-40x is the industry average.

I spent two hours gambling at Drake Casino for this review, and I fully recommend the casino to others. The site’s slot selection was particularly impressive, offering more than 300 traditional and jackpot slots. One table game I personally found to be very entertaining was Casino Solitaire. The game plays like traditional solitaire, with players “buying in” to each game. I wish that the game did a better job of shuffling cards, since it wasn’t uncommon to see three or four of the same card value in a row several times per game. That said, Casino Solitaire was my favorite game at Drake Casino.

Drake Casino Video Poker

Drake offers seven video poker variations. All of Drake Casino’s video poker games are supplied by the operator Arrow’s Edge. I personally found the site’s video poker selection to be somewhat frustrating. 

The games themselves were fine, but a popup window appears after every hand that says “DEALER WINS” or “PLAYER WINS”. While this wasn’t terribly intrusive, it was annoying to have to constantly X out a popup window while playing. 

On the other hand, all of Drake’s video poker games prominently display an easy-to-read pay table. I appreciated the ability to quickly see how much each successful hand would be based on the current bet. 

I personally found Bonus Poker and Jacks are Wild to be the most enjoyable video poker games on the site.

Drake Casino’s specialty games include scratch cards, keno, bingo, and a few unique game offerings. There’s also a plinko game called Plinko Rush, and Space Invasion, which plays similarly to the classic Atari/arcade game Space Invaders.

Animal Arcade is a unique game in which the player a light up box circles around a game board, eventually stopping on a particular animal. The player selects which animal they think the light will land on, and the game almost plays like roulette in that you’re predicting where the light will stop. 

Another unique specialty game at Drake Casino is Eggsplosion. The Dragon Gaming offering displays 15 eggs that each have a unique dollar amount on them. The dollar amounts indicate each respective bet. Clicking on eggs reveals how much money each one wins. For example, I clicked on multiple eggs that said $0.50, and several of them netted me a $2 win. But likewise, I had a few $10 eggs also return $2.

Eggsplosion is very fun to play, and I could easily do so for hours. 

Drake Casino Live Dealer

The Drake Casino live casino lobby is provided by Fresh Deck studios. This lobby features a baccarat table, three roulette wheels with bets ranging from $0.50 to $12,500 per spin, and eight blackjack tables. Live blackjack at Drake has a somewhat high entry fee, with bets starting at $10 per hand and going all the way up to $2000. One thing I didn’t like about Drake’s live blackjack tables is that all of them feature limited seating per-table. But that said, all the non-blackjack live dealer games at Drake have unlimited seating, which I appreciated. 

Customer Support at Drake Casino

Drake Casino has email and telephone-based customer support options. I emailed them asking about some of their jackpot slots, and they wrote back in just under one hour. A representative named Dustin clearly answered my questions, and offered to answer any additional inquiries that I might have. 

Mobile Gambling at Drake Casino

Drake Casino is largely optimized for mobile use. The casino doesn’t have a dedicated mobile application, but when I visited the site on my phone, it asked if I wanted it to make a convenient shortcut on my home screen. 

I found the site’s table games to run much worse on my phone than they did on PC. As a matter of fact, I couldn’t get American Blackjack to load on mobile at all. American Roulette eventually did load, though it suffered performance issues such as a lowered frame rate and extremely delayed responses.

The majority of slots and video poker games I tried on Drake Casino’s mobile site worked very smoothly. Buffalo Bullion, Jane’s Farm, and Western Call ran better on my phone than they did on PC. All the slot games I tried worked very well in landscape mode, and most of them did well in portrait mode. Tower of Fortuna in particular was well-suited for vertical screen orientation, as it features a tower-climbing mechanic.

Comparing Drake Casino to Other Casinos

Drake Casino is easily one of the more entertaining casinos online, thanks to the site’s slots and specialty games selection in particular. Las Atlantis is another online casino worth visiting if you’re into specialty games like bingo and keno. The Las Atlantis site features many of the same games as Drake, as well as more than 50 additional titles by Spade Gaming and BGaming, among others. 

While Drake Casino has a wide range of casino games available, there are no sportsbook or poker room options on the site. Players wanting to wager on sports would be well served to visit online casinos with dedicated sportsbooks, such as Bovada or BetUS. I recommend Ignition Casino as the best site to play poker online; the site features both daily and weekly poker tournaments.

My Drake Casino Verdict

I found Drake Casino’s wide selection of casino games to be extremely entertaining and fun to play. My personal favorite Drake Casino games were Casino Solitaire, Tower of Fortuna, and Jacks or Better Video Poker. 

I appreciated that new users can choose from three welcome bonuses that focus on matched funds, free spins, or cryptocurrency, respectively.
