The Three Stooges Brideless Groom Slots

Released by Realtime Gaming in 2015, the Three Stooges Brideless Groom is a 5 reel, 33 payline slot based on a 1947 short film.

The Three Stooges – Shemp Howard, Moe Howard, and Larry Fine – was a legendary slapstick comedy team that released 190 movies from 1934 to 1959.

Brideless Groom is the 101st film in this series, and it revolves around Shemp trying to find a bride so that he can receive his uncle’s $500,000 inheritance which is approx. $5.5 million today. The search puts Shemp through a number of humiliating and painful situations, just like in any Three Stooges movie.

How well does Realtime’s online slot live up to the movie? And does Three Stooges Brideless Groom capture the mid-1900s era?

Find out as we discuss this game’s atmosphere, pay table, graphics, bonuses, betting options, and comparisons to other Three Stooges slots.

Overview

The game opens with black and white footage from the Brideless Groom, where Moe informs Shemp that he’ll receive his deceased uncle’s $500k inheritance if he gets married within the next 48hours. Shemp says that there’s no chance because no woman wants anything to do with him.

After the movie scene, you’re taken to the reels, where there are a number of vintage objects in the background. These include an old style radio, telephone, clock, and light fixture. You’ll alsohear the same type of classical music that’s heard in Three Stooges movies.

The classical music is on a short loop, so it gets annoying after a while. But the music stops temporarily every time you spin the reels.

Where this game really shines is its animations, which include lines from the movie and slapstick comedy. The animations include: Shemp looking for the wedding ring in a piano and the topcollapsing on him, Larry getting punched in the face, Shemp getting his head squished in a grinder, and Moe searching for papers and putting his head through a dresser drawer.

With four different animations involving the Stooges’ slapstick comedy, this game offers a lot of entertainment value.

Three Stooges Brideless Groom Pay Table and Graphics

Three Stooges Brideless Groom offers the following symbols and payouts:

Three Stooges Icon Wild

Featuring Larry, Shemp, and Moe, the Three Stooges icon is a grouped wild that substitutes for everything except the wedding ring scatter. When forming winning combinations by itself, the iconpays 3,333 credits for 5 symbols, 333 for 4, and 99 for 3.

Wedding Ring Scatter

The wedding ring multiplies your total bet whenever it appears 3 or more times anywhere on the reels. Your bets will be multiplied by 333x for 5 symbols, 33x for 4 symbol, and 3x for 3 symbols.

Shemp, Larry, and Moe

The Three Stooges can combine to form winning payouts, including 333 credits for 5 symbols, 133 for 4, and 33 for 3.

Marriage Certificate and Money

These two symbols go well together because if Shemp gets his marriage certificate, he gets $500k. They pay the same as the Three Stooges when combining to form a win.

Suitcase and Wedding Cake

These symbols pay 133 credits for 5 symbols, 33 for 4, and 9 for 3.

Champagne, Bouquet, and Guest Book

These three symbols pay the same as the suitcase and wedding cake.

Symbol Graphics

This game does a good job of combining real life shots of Shemp, Larry, and Moe with designed graphics like the wedding cake, champagne, bouquet, and a suitcase.

The symbols look far better than the background, which is a dingy yellow color.

Another thing we like about the symbols is that they’re all original.

Like other companies, Realtime has a habit of using generic letters/numbers for half of their symbols. But they didn’t do this in Three Stooges Brideless Groom, instead relating everything toShemp’s pending wedding.

Three Stooges Brideless Groom Bonus Features

Brideless Groom slots offers two bonus rounds and are spin feature, which you can read about below:

The Three Stooges Re Spins

Re spins are triggered when one of the Stooges or the wild symbol covers reel 2, 3, or 4. You receive 1 to 2 re spins when you cover 1 to 2 of these middle reels.

You’re awarded 3 re spins if you improve from one covered reel to two after the re spin. Only the Stooge Picks – not the Lucky Stooge Picks – can be triggered during a re spin.

Stooge Picks

If the Stooges and/or wild icons cover reels 2, 3, and 4, you trigger the Stooge Picks. This sees the 5×4 grid replaced by TVs with the Three Stooges on them.

You continue selecting among these 20 TVs until you reveal two pieces of a broken heart. Your picks will uncover free spins, whacky wilds, and multipliers. Wacky wilds turn Shemp, Larry, or Moewild when they appear on all positions of reels 2, 3, and 4.

Once you pick the two pieces of the broken hearts, you perform your free spins. The free spins incorporate whatever prizes you earned during the Stooge Picks, and the background changes to asheer curtain with flowers decorating the outside.

Lucky Stooge Spins

The Lucky Stooge Spins can be triggered at the end of any regular game, and you’re awarded either 9 or 33 spins with a 3x multiplier.

Lucky Stooge Spins can be randomly retriggered at any point during the bonus or main game.

Betting Options

You can adjust pay lines from 1 33 and change your coin denomination from $0.01 to $0.25. This makes the minimum bet $0.01 and the max wager worth $8.25.

Brideless Groom isn’t a game for high rollers due to the $8.25 max wager, but it’s good for low rollers because of the one cent minimum bet.

Auto Spin Options

You can make the reels spin automatically with your betting preferences by clicking auto play. When you choose auto play, you’ll be prompted to decide when you want these spins to stop.

Options include: stopping after X number of spins, after you win a jackpot, when any win exceeds X, if your balance decreases by X, if your balance increases by X, or if a bonus round istriggered.

Other Options

You can adjust the sound volume by clicking the Menu button in the lower right hand corner, then choosing Player Options.

You can change the reel speed by clicking the Speed button in the lower left hand corner. The speed is indicated by the radio dial, which shows red the slowest, green which is medium, and darkgreen the fastest.

Comparison to Other Three Stooges Slots

The Three Stooges have been in syndication for decades, gaining worldwide fame in the process. And it’s little surprise that other slots manufacturers have made online games revolving around thetrio.

Below you can see comparisons between the Three Stooges Brideless Groom and three other slots.

NuWorks’ Three Stooges Disorder in Court

This game focuses on the franchise’s 15th short film, Disorder in Court, where the Stooges are summoned as witnesses to a murder. After a number of follies, the Stooges are able to prove thattheir friend, Gail Tempest, is innocent of the murder.

One difference between this game and Brideless Groom is that, true to the movie, Curly Howard is involved instead of Shemp.

Another difference is that Disorder in Court features a 3 reel, 5 pay line setup. The low number of pay lines is frustrating if you want extra lines to have more chances at winning

You can only change your coin denomination from $0.01 to $0.25, which makes for a max bet of $1.25 per spin with all five pay lines. If you like betting more to win larger payouts, then you won’tenjoy this game.

Features include special Stooge symbols nudging reels to create expanding wilds, film footage during expanding wilds, and free spins. The free spins are fun because expanding wilds fill up BonusStooges columns, which award you larger multipliers when they’re filled.

Overall, Three Stooges Disorder in Court is on par with Brideless Groom in terms of animations and bonuses. But this game is lacking in betting and pay line options, so we place it a step belowThree Stooges Brideless Groom.

Pariplay’s Three Stooges Disorder in Court

Pariplay also made a slots game based on Disorder in Court, with this version featuring 5 reels and 25 pay lines.

Pariplay’s version incorporates Tempest and some of the other courtroom characters into the story, whereas NuWorks’ game focuses on the Three Stooges. Like the other games we’ve discussed, yousee animations when the main characters form winning combinations.

This slot offers two bonus features, including free spins, Whack A Juror, and Tag Mix Up. It’s hard to distinguish the free spins from the main game because you don’t get any extra wild symbols, scatters, expanding wilds, or a different background.

Whack A Juror sees Polly the Parrot get loose in the courtroom, and you swing at jurors to win prizes. Three missed swings ends your bonus round.

Tag Mix Up is based on how the disorder in court caused evidence items to lose their tags. You select three objects on a desk to tag so that the trial can resume.

In terms of graphics and gameplay, Pariplay’s Three Stooges Disorder in Court is a notch below NuWorks’ game and Brideless Groom. But the two second screen bonus rounds help raise theentertainment value of this game.

Realtime’s Three Stooges II

Prior to developing the Brideless Groom, Realtime made a couple of other Three Stooges games, including the Three Stooges II.

This 3 reel, 3 pay line game focuses on the Three Stooges in Hollywood, which is clear from the Stooges Studios sign and clapperboard on the reels.

Betting options are limited since you can only change pay lines from 1 3 and adjust your coin denomination from $0.01 to $1.00. This places it in the same category as Pariplay’s Disorder inCourt, where those who like more pay lines won’t be happy with Three Stooges II.

Another thing we don’t like is that this game features 7s, BARs, cherries, and diamonds as symbols. This is fine for old Las Vegas slot machines, but most online slots incorporate moreoriginality into symbols.

On the plus side, Three Stooges II offers movie footage after big wins and three bonus features.

One bonus is Curly’s Cashola, which offers 9 free spins with a 2x multiplier.

Another bonus is Larry’s Stash, which features a 6 level prize ladder, where you roll dice to earn up to 20 free spins and a 7x multiplier.

Moe’s Moolah Feature also features a 6 level prize ladder that gives you a chance to earn up to 100 free spins and a 10x multiplier.

Based on the limited pay lines and generic symbols, Three Stooges II is our least favorite game out of the ones in this list. But it’s still worth playing if you love the Stooges and want anotherslot with film footage.

Conclusion

Three Stooges Brideless Groom does a great job of using an introduction video and film footage to give this slot an authentic movie feeling. Maybe you won’t get a laugh out of the 3 secondanimations, but they’re still fun to see when you form winning combinations.

The graphics and real life Stooges also blend well together on the reels. Our only complaint here is that the ugly yellow background could’ve been switched with something more wedding oriented.

Going back to positives, Brideless Groom offers a solid number of bonus features. The re spins happen often and help you turn losing spins into winners, or improve your winning combinations.

The Stooge Picks bonus is nice with its multiple levels, where you choose TVs first, then use the free spins that you find in the TVs.

We didn’t trigger the Lucky Stooge Spins nearly as often as the Stooge Picks. But this is another bonus opportunity that you can trigger while playing.

Aside from the background and redundant classical music in the main game, we mostly have positive thoughts about Three Stooges Brideless Groom. Even if you could care less about the ThreeStooges, you should find this game entertaining.
